Review Summary

Overall, reviews describe Moustache Café as a pleasant space with plenty of seating, a calm modern vibe, and a menu that includes coffee, tea, smoothies, pressed juice, bagels, sandwiches, and bakery items. The atmosphere ranges from quiet and study friendly to lively, with positive notes on the decor and comfortable seating and occasional comments about a busier or warmer service at times. Coffee quality shows variation, with some praising espresso and others finding it average, while the staff is generally described as friendly and attentive though warmth can vary by visit. The café is often cited for good value on pastries and snacks, with highlights like banana bread, lentil soup, and matcha treats mentioned alongside sandwiches. The space is repeatedly described as a good place to work or study, and the human touch of the staff is highlighted as a meaningful part of the experience. In sum, Moustache Café is seen as a charming local spot with potential and a mix of strengths and occasional inconsistencies that shape each visit.

I judge coffee shops mainly from the quality of their espresso shots. It was bad. Like over extracted & watery. Maybe it's just the barista that served me, but I probably will stop somewhere else next time Im in little italy, especially given the density of good coffee in the area.

Today, I visited this café for the first time to get some work done on my computer. I arrived around 11 in the morning, & the place was not even half full. After scanning the menu, I ordered a latte, the staff didn't rush us, which was appreciated. I spoke in English, but the girl/server didn't say anything, I'm assuming she didn't feel comfortable speaking English. Despite that, the atmosphere remained pleasant & calm throughout my stay until 3 pm. As it got busier around lunchtime, the air inside warmed up, but I didn't mind. Eventually, I ordered a chicken sandwich on a baguette with nacho chips, & it was delicious. While the prices were moderate, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of both the latte & the sandwich. The wifi worked perfectly without any lag, & the bathroom was clean. The only downside was that the staff could have been a bit friendlier & more welcoming; they seemed a bit disinterested. Overall, though, it was a positive experience.

One of the best cafe in Montreal. My first criteria for a great coffee shop is the quality of the latte, cappuccino, etc, & the consistency of that quality. Moustache is high on both: you can count on having an excellent Italian style coffee no matter whose barista is working that day. The second criteria I have is the comfort & the beauty of the place. Again, Moustache rates high, they did a great job years ago expanding & it is one of most confortable cafe around. Third for me is the quality of the food: Moustache has excellent well prices sandwiches, daily soup, salad bowls & sweets. Their smoothies are excellent as well. Lastly is the service: it is a very warm place with the staff welcoming & the owner fantastic.
