The food was delicious & at a very reasonble price for the quality & flavors. Service was a bit on the slow side but only because the restaurant was packed but the waitress was sweet & friendly & made great suggestions. They have a cute terrasse in front of the restaurant. The pistachio cheesecake is a must try.
The pizzas were amazing. Burrata is fresh.. arancini succulent & service was amazing there. the freshness of the ingredients is something worth going back there. highly recommend & will go back to try the pastas…
We have been regular customers at Moreira's for a long time & have always enjoyed coming here. We often order pizzas, drinks, & other menu items, which is why this experience was so disappointing.
Today, our fries were extremely overcooked & too hard to eat. We politely asked if they could be replaced, & while they did bring us another order, they looked exactly the same. We even noticed that another table's fries looked completely different & much better. We barely touched ours.
When it came time to pay, we simply mentioned that the replacement fries were still overcooked. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the waitress, who was also the manager, responded,'Well, we already changed them for you. You guys always complain about the food & drinks, so I don't know why you still come back.'
We were honestly shocked by this comment because it was incredibly rude & simply not true. We have always enjoyed coming here & have never been known to complain.
What disappointed us most wasn't the fries-mistakes can happen in any restaurant. It was the way the situation was handled. As the manager, she chose to respond with accusations instead of professionalism, understanding, or even a simple apology.
Despite the disrespectful way we were treated, we still chose to pay our bill in full & leave a tip. Unfortunately, the service we received was far from deserving of it.
This experience has cost Moreira's three regular customers. We will not be returning.
We got a reservation last minute & I have no idea how, because the food here is top notch. We had:
the caeser salad (which they make with fried prosciutto) 5/5
arancini, crispy & flavourful. 4/5
the pistachio pesto pasta which is something i have never tried but absolutely loved, it was not too salty like some pesto sauces can be yet it was flavourful. 4/5
& their daily special pizza which i took a picture of, i think it had tomato sauce, burrata cheese , hot pepperoni, hot honey & hot oil sauce on the side. I asked for the pizza to be well done & it came out amazingly, crispy on the outside but not overdone. The pizza dough was just the right amount of salty 5/5
****edit: I forgot to mention the dessert cause i dont eat sweets but my girl did, its was a tiramisu in a little coffee pot you can see in the picture. She liked it & it made her happy so i guess its a 5/5 for me! I liked the presentation for sure. ***
mtl is full of italian restaurants, & some are more popular than they deserve (in my humble opinion), however without a doubt this place deserves way more credit & hype. I honestly didn't want to write this review so i don't have to compete for reservations but here we are.
the venue is small & feels like a local mom & pop restaurant, its quiet enough where u can easily hear each other, & i think they have a terrace when the weather is nice but it was raining when we went. Parking is very limited in that entire area so i suggest you uber or walk.
service is fantastic, our server was angela & she took great care of us.
(cocktails were solid too)
if i ever want to treat friends or family to italian in mtl i am bringing them here. & you should too!
If I could do half stars I would. This place is a 4.5.
Star of the show is the arancini - crispy, seasoned well, & not so heavy you feel like you've over eaten before the main.
Pasta & pizza are solid. Need a tiny bit more salt but overall very good.
Recently my husband & I decided to go out for dinner & drove to our favorite restaurant, but unfortunately we could not stay because they were already closing & it was getting a little late. So I suggested that we randomly pick a place on Google Maps based on reviews & at that exact moment we happened to be driving past your restaurant. I told my husband to stop because I noticed that you had many reviews & most of them were wonderful. The food in people's photos looked absolutely delicious & we decided to give it a try.
Sometimes photos can be misleading & reviews too because everyone has different tastes & a different understanding of what good food & atmosphere should be. But this time my intuition did not fail me.
We walked into the restaurant & were surprised that it was almost empty because the place itself was beautiful, cozy & had such a welcoming atmosphere. Our food arrived very quickly & everything was absolutely delicious. Every dish was charming in its own way & full of flavor.
The truffle pasta was absolutely magnificent, the arancini completely blew us away, the pizza was incredible & the mozzarella was unbelievably delicious. What I also loved is that the pizza & pasta felt very light. Some places leave you feeling heavy after eating pizza or pasta, but here everything felt fresh, balanced & absolutely wonderful.
We are already planning to return soon to continue our experience & finally try the octopus because when it was served to the table next to us I instantly realized that I absolutely have to try it next time.
We are very grateful for the wonderful service. The waitresses were lovely, kind, attentive & incredibly welcoming. We will definitely return soon to celebrate our little special occasion & we are so happy that we discovered such a beautiful hidden gem not far from our home.
This place has officially become another precious hidden treasure in our collection of amazing food spots. Thank you, guys❤??🔥❤??🔥❤??🔥
Excellentes pizzas.
Such a perfect spot. Moreiras really checks all the boxes. It's a small resto, so definitely make a reservation as it fills up quickly, & for good reason.
Great food, a nice wine selection, super warm & friendly service, & a great ambiance.
We were a group of six & shared everything, which worked perfectly. We started with two salads, the fig salad of the day & a fennel salad, both fresh & really well done. Then came the meatballs, which were honestly outstanding.
After that we had two pastas, the pappardelle al funghi & the ragu pasta special both rich & full of flavor. We also shared three pizzas, the Margherita, the rucola pizza, & the Tutu pizza, all excellent. The most amazing pizza crust. The dough is fermented for 48hrs.
& we couldn't skip dessert, the Nutella donut holes were the perfect ending.
Alexa took great care of us all night, & it was such a pleasure chatting with John, the owner & chef.
Just a really solid spot. Will definitely be back
