Review Summary

MoonSikdang is widely celebrated as one of the best Korean dining destinations in the Montreal area and the South Shore, known for its remarkably authentic flavors and consistent quality. Guests frequently praise the delicious bibimbap, flavorful stews, and high-quality BBQ, noting that the dishes often rival or exceed the standards of food found in Korea. While the venue is intimate and can sometimes become quite busy, necessitating reservations for groups or weekends, the welcoming atmosphere and attentive service consistently enhance the overall experience. Although some reviewers find the portions or prices to be a point of discussion compared to other options, the majority agree that the culinary quality makes the visit well worth it and express a strong desire to return.

We ordered takeout last year & found their foods were surprisingly good even after 45min back home. A year later, finally get the chance to try it on the spot. Excellent food.

Recommend to try their rock bowl bibimbap, at this particular restaurant, their bibimbap just taste different after being charred by the bowl.

Their seafood Spicy Tofu soup is also very flavorful, I'd say almost the best we've tried around Montreal. Is has a very deep seafood umami.

The seafood pancake, was alright, although we found the portion a bit small, not worth $18... Their fried chicken is decent, wish they could be crispier & the portion is also quite small for $40.

Overall, this is a very good Korean restaurant (in the top 5, of the ones I've tried) & definitely recommend you to try it out if you are around the area. 👍🏻

Joshua provided an awesome experience to my family. The kimchi is amazing.

The bimbimpap was good but the bowl is simply too hot. That said, the taste of everything was really good.

The food was absolutely delicious - I ordered the Bibimpam in a hot stone bowl & it was packed with flavor, perfectly balanced, & beautifully presented. The rice had that perfect crispy texture from the hot bowl, & the vegetables were fresh & well-seasoned. On top of that, the restaurant was spotless - very clean & well-maintained, which made it even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic Korean cuisine in a nice setting!

Amazing Korean restaurant!
The Bulgogi set & Yukhoe Bibimbap (a rice bowl topped with fresh raw beef & vegetables) were fantastic.
Beautiful presentation & generous portions.
I heard the chef already has many years of experience in Korea.
Even non-Korean guests will enjoy the authentic yet approachable flavors.
From what I can tell, it's already well-loved by many guests - booking ahead is a good idea, especially on Friday nights.

It used to be my favorite Korean food in brossard. It was delicious & cost-effective. Since the epidemic, the price has been rising, which is understandable. But today, I ordered a takeout & opened it. I can't believe half a bowl of soup costs 21.99 before tax. Really very disappointed,if the amount you give is not that much, do not mislead consumers with such a large package

This is an authentic family-run Korean restaurant, much different than mainstream all-you-can eat Korean BBQ restaurants. Very few restaurants in Greater Montreal like this one can make you exclusive Korean dishes such as bibimbap or pa-jeon. My bibimbap was served in a traditional sizzling hot stone bowl & the pa-jeon was crispy hot delicious! Unlike some reviews, this restaurant cannot be compared to cheap Chinese food restaurants. It is in a category (& culture) of its own, & we cannot wait to return to explore other dishes of their wide-range menu!

What an amazing local discovery! We were searching for a restaurant in the area for dinner & stumbled upon MoonSikdang. It had good reviews so we decided to try it out, & the reviews are well deserved! It's probably the best korean food I've had in a while, & their prices are very reasonable. The service was reasonably quick, considering they also do take out orders. We had the crispy bulgogi & a pork dolsot bibimbap (I'm still dreaming of the crispy rice in that bowl...). One of the tables next to ours had the fried chicken, & it's definitely on our list for next time!

We ordered tteokbokki & bibimbap, & while the taste was decent, the prices were outrageous. The $20 tteokbokki came with only a dozen pieces, which is ridiculous. Considered we have tried a lots of Korean restaurant in Montreal the average price for the dish is around $15 & double the portion. The bibimbap wasn't even served in a stone bowl, just a regular metal one. The side dishes were very small in quantity & didn't include the classic Korean kimchi. We had tried their takeout before & found it delicious, which is why we decided to dine in. Overall, we were quite disappointed. The dining space is small & very stuffy. Hope they improve.
