Review Summary

Milestones is widely regarded as an excellent destination for group celebrations, dates, and casual dining, thanks to its vibrant atmosphere and generally high-quality food. Many guests praise the diverse menu, highlighting favorites like the California salad, ribs, smash burgers, and the signature carrot cake, as well as the variety of gluten-free options available. While the majority of reviews commend the professional, friendly, and attentive staff, noting that the service often elevates the dining experience, some visitors have reported inconsistencies regarding food temperatures and occasional delays during busy periods. Despite mixed feedback on value and specific kitchen execution, the restaurant remains a popular choice in the West Island, with many patrons expressing a strong desire to return for the lively vibe and accommodating hospitality.

Restaurant Type: Casual Steakhouse / Grill & Bar (similar to The Keg, Zibo, or Baton Rouge).
?Atmosphere: Very large dining room. The atmosphere is lively & loud, making it unsuitable for a romantic dinner or quiet, intimate conversation.
?Best For: Absolutely perfect for a 4-6 person event! The energy & table size are fantastic for gatherings of friends or colleagues. Expect a vibrant, energetic night out. Comfortable booth. Great cocktail selection.

The menu reads so well, what a disappointment when the food came. You can't serve an appetizer at that cost, the ahi tuna sushi, with plain rice. Sushi rice! That's the only way .. The Cobb salad, boiled shrimp, & the vinegret, was their one. Here, quality olive oil, apple cider vinegar, salt pepper, roast some garlic, lemon juice, honey ... The green curry shrimp, here's a tip; use your seafood shells, scraps, make a stock, use that broth in the green curry.... & most important, lemon grass, ginger, coriander.. your kitchen manager & chef are failing you. You clearly are saving from the margin on ingredients you describe in your menu that are wasted in that horrible product... The keg, 40 West, yes five star, but the reasons & result & continued existence is in the product .. The service, the food!... You are in a prime location, a beautiful restaurant... These two factors are a reason why you should succeed, but you fail with food that is clearly saving on ingredient quality, but more important, your chef had no idea what is spice, flavor... Does he/she even taste anything?... I have managed restaurants, franchises, food retail ... You will close within the next two years. & while you try to save that restaurant, you will only dive deeper into poor ingredient choices, & lack of attention of what guess to the customer, your expeditor is not qualified either ... Saving grace the blond tattooed bartender/server who wasn't into service at first, but she did surely become involved & was great doing forward was the only reason I will give your menu, restaurant, ones more try.. The blackened cod & pork chop will get a taste .. Otherwise, save yourself as million dollars that you'll probably pour into that restaurant over the next two years, unless your prepared to actually learn from restaurants I've mentioned to succeed ... Service, bland food... You didn't need much to elevate that shrimp curry.... You have everything in your kitchen, adding the lemon grass, to make that a great dish... I'll show you if you want...

Been 3 times now, the service is always friendly enough, but can feel a bit lacking when it's busy. The wait time for food & drinks can be a bit long but they're both very good.
The only real issue I've experienced, on every visit, is that the bar is very inconsistent with getting the drink orders right. They've been out of products needed for monthly special drinks each time, or if you order a specialty drink you get sent the base version of the drink. As an example, last night was busy so service was slower than normal, which is not their fault, but I tried to order the Empress Elderflower Cosmo & I was given a normal cosmo. Something similar seems to happen each time. Not a deal breaker at all, everything else was great, but definitely something they need to work on. Will keep going!!

I found it very strange that happy hour didn't apply to the terrasse. Only if you sit at the bar. Had I known this I would have gone to The Keg as happy hour applies to the terrasse.

I took my boyfriend out for his birthday dinner on Friday, May 28th. He had been wanting to try Milestones for a while, so I called about a month in advance to make a reservation & mentioned it was a special occasion & our first time dining there.

Unfortunately, the service didn't live up to expectations. According to our bill, our server was Lea, but we barely saw her throughout the night. No one really checked in on us, ordering anything took longer than it should have, & it was difficult to get anyone's attention. By the time we considered dessert, we ended up just asking the nearest staff member for the bill after a long wait-who kindly said he'd let our server know. It still took a while for us to actually receive it.

To top it off, I only noticed upon receiving the bill that our server had written down the filet mignon instead of the sirloin my boyfriend had actually ordered. I'm not a meat expert, so I didn't catch it at the time-& since it was his birthday, I didn't mind treating him to a filet mignon. But still, it wasn't what he had originally ordered.

On a more positive note, the food itself was excellent. From the spinach & artichoke dip to our mains, everything coming out of the kitchen was delicious. Hats off to the chef & kitchen staff-they really delivered.

That said, I do have two small notes: I ordered the 1989 burger, & while it was flavorful, it came with ingredients that weren't listed on the menu, like onions. I don't tolerate onions very well, so it would be great if the menu included all key ingredients, especially for people with sensitivities or dietary restrictions. I also found the plate size odd-my dish looked a bit lost on a giant plate, especially compared to my boyfriend's more visually balanced meal.

In short: the food was great, but the service unfortunately left a bad impression. We won't be returning, but sincere thanks to the kitchen team for an otherwise well-executed meal.

First time at milestone Pros: seated quickly, waitress was pleasant took our orders quickly ; we were a group of 12; ambiance was good, seats comfortable Cons: took over an hour for our food to arrive despite we were early for dinner & restaurant was not that busy Would not recommend the grilled chicken served on spinach, kale with spicy goat cheese. Meat was tough & dry, barely any vegetables looked nothing like the picture. Caesar salad was plain at best. Beet salad barely had any beets. Food prep & quality definitely sub par. For the price, do not recommend for a meal. Might be ok for 5a7. Drinks & snacks
