Menthe & Couscous: A restaurant with a warm decor & atmosphere in Montreal! Menthe & Couscous offers gourmet cuisine from North Africa, traditional Tunisian & Moroccan dishes in particular, where authentic culinary customs are applied. Specialties consist of lamb, chicken, merguez sausage or royal couscous's, finely spiced, letting the taste of vegetables and the delicious flavor of semolina virgin olive oil stand out. Grills are also part of the restaurant's menu where you will discover authentic and delicious dishes made with fresh & high quality produces. You will have the occasion to discover Tunisian salads that are rich in color & flavor. They are fresh & perfumed, perfect for the Summer, but can be savored any time of the year. The brick is an essential classic of North African cooking. We prepare it as a hot appetizer for a feast or as a light meal. Infinite versions exist for this typical dish. Fresh mint is almost omnipresent in North Africa. Nothing beats mint tea to transport you to Maghreb. Your taste buds and nostrils will be delighted with its intoxicating perfume, while the sound of the pouring liquid charms your hearing. The movement of this shimmering amber syrup, for your viewing pleasure, completes this journey of the senses... Mint tea symbolizes friendliness, relaxation and hospitality, any time of the day! Mint tea is served with a fine Tunisian pastry which is a symphony of textures, colors & flavors. They are made with healthy & natural products which complement and combine your desires and the delightful moments in life. One of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. The tagine was incredibly tender & flavorful, & the mint tea was the perfect way to end the meal. Beautiful presentation & great service. Highly recommended.

I'll start by saying that the food here was amazing & delicious & if I were to solely rate the food it would be 5 stars. The service however really needs some improvement. After being seated & having our orders taken, we received the wrong appetizers by the same server who took our order. Then instead of receiving our correct appetizers we got our Main Course. I corrected that with the server & they took our food back & brought out the appetizers we ordered except they were clearly made in a rush as one of them was missing the lamb that was supposed to come with it. Finally after all that we thought we would have some dessert & asked for a dessert menu only for them to have completely forgotten about it & after waiting 15 min we just asked for the bill & left. Not once did anyone come to check if the food was good or if we need anything.
Let me reiterate this though. The food was excellent & if you want to try Moroccan food, I highly recommend it. But be prepared for the possibility that the service may not be up to par.
Update 2025 - Service has improved massively. Food quality remains phenomenal. I will continue to recommend this place to anyone visiting Montreal.

We ate at Menthe & Couscous last October for dinner & it was wonderful! Our host was so friendly & explained with enthusiasm the entire menu. We had the couscous royal ( so fresh!), tajine with chicken olives & lemon (amazing!) & soup (warm & yummy). Would highly recommend & we will be back again :)

Excellent food. Their recipe is unconventional & not typical, they took the Mediterranean concept & revisited it to give it more taste. Excellent plates & huge portions. Eclectic decor & warm ambiance with nice diversified music.
I loved their couscous royal & I tried the lamb tajine from my friend & they were both amazing. I highly recommend them.

Went to Menthe & Couscous several times for dinner or lunch & all was great! Caring staff, delicious meal, & the bellydance show on Friday & Saturday was amazing! Highly recommended! Just in case you look for a calmer spot better to book your table on the terrasse or in the beginning of the restaurant.
