Menthe & Couscous: A restaurant with a warm decor & atmosphere in Montreal! Menthe & Couscous offers gourmet cuisine from North Africa, traditional Tunisian & Moroccan dishes in particular, where authentic culinary customs are applied. Specialties consist of lamb, chicken, merguez sausage or royal couscous's, finely spiced, letting the taste of vegetables and the delicious flavor of semolina virgin olive oil stand out. Grills are also part of the restaurant's menu where you will discover authentic and delicious dishes made with fresh & high quality produces. You will have the occasion to discover Tunisian salads that are rich in color & flavor. They are fresh & perfumed, perfect for the Summer, but can be savored any time of the year. The brick is an essential classic of North African cooking. We prepare it as a hot appetizer for a feast or as a light meal. Infinite versions exist for this typical dish. Fresh mint is almost omnipresent in North Africa. Nothing beats mint tea to transport you to Maghreb. Your taste buds and nostrils will be delighted with its intoxicating perfume, while the sound of the pouring liquid charms your hearing. For our long awaited date night away from kids.
It was a good experience, nice quiet restaurant with quality food. For a first time having Lamb Tagine it was great. I have already recommended the restaurant to friends. We will be back for sure, with kids this time. :)

Nourriture très moyenne. Peu de saveur en ce qui concerne les deux tagines que nous avons commandées. Cuisson des morceaux de poulet très inégale: certains d'entre eux n'était pas assez cuits. La salle de toilette ont été inutilisable pendant 30 minutes puisque la danseuse du resto s'y est changée. Nous avons dû quitter le resto & utiliser les toilettes du cinéma situé juste en face. Malgré ceci, le personne est courtois.

Cuisine maghrebienne excellente, les portions sont généreuses, l' accueil est sympathique. Nous recommandons cette table & avons l'intention d'y retourner lors d'une une autre occasion

Nous sommes arrivé mon épouse & moi, un mercredi soir. L'accueil plutôt ordinaire car on dirait qu'on dérangeait. J'ai commandé une délicieuse tajine à l'agneau & ma femme un couscous royal. C'était vraiment bon. Un délice!
En résumé super bon mais ambiance un peu bizarre.

Nous y sommes allés un soir. Il y avait peu de monde, un service rapide mais plutôt froid, c'est à peine si le serveur nous parlait & pas de sourire. Un joli décor mais un sol sale & nous avions même des morceaux de verre sous notre table. Le couscous était bon avec de généreuses portions mais il était fade, ça manquait d'épices.
C'est surement un bon restaurant à la vue des autres commentaires mais malheureusement nous n'avons pas eu une bonne expérience ce soir là & nous n'y retournerons pas.

The best couscous in town. The spices were amazing. I ordered the lamb couscous, & it was so good, I could not stop eating, even when I was full... Price is decent considering the portions you get. I also ordered the Brick (with eggs) but was a bit disappointed, as the eggs were a little runny... however, the main dish was heavenly. The ambience was no that good, however, especially compared to other restaurants like La Rose des Sables (even if you don't count the bellydancers at the latter restaurant). Service was OK in general, but there was only one waitress, & she looked a bit frazzled / didn't have enough time to refill our water glasses, etc. I would not go there again unless it's a big group, because I like restaurants that have some ambiance, & this restaurant was lacking in that regard. However, it's a shame, because the food was just amazing.

Vibrant & causy. A good choice for a good meal. The Coucous royal for 2 gave us the chance to try all the types of couscous they offer. The lamb shanks is the winner...
Excellent music selection, & very nice humble decor. The restaurant was busy all the time. We left at 1.30am & still it was packed.
Highly recommended, for food, ambiance & music. Very good experience.
