We opened our first cafe in 2013 with the mission of offering specialty coffee in a warm and inclusive environment.
During our expansion, we quickly understood that as a company, our central commitment was to our employees. It is with them and thanks to them that everything else is possible.
Reviews describe MELK Café as a place with excellent coffee and pastries, a cozy interior, and a friendly, approachable staff, making it a popular spot for studying or catching up with friends. Many praise the consistency of drinks and baked goods, including muffins and scones, while noting that prices can be a bit high. The café can feel busy due to limited seating and a lively atmosphere, which some patrons enjoy and others find overwhelming. A recurring observation is a shift toward a coworking vibe on weekends, prompting some to call for more laptop free hours to preserve the cafe experience. It remains a favorite for coffee lovers despite occasional noise and a few service quirks.
The available food for beeakfast are just muffins & few other things. Very bad! If you want jyst a coffee is ok. Otherwise better to go to another place

I absolutely loved my time at MELK Cafe! The service was amazing, & the place is just adorable - the perfect little cozy spot. It's also super kid-friendly, especially with those delightful macaroons! My kids shared a hot chocolate while I enjoyed a matcha latte, & we spent a lovely afternoon just hanging out together. I can't recommend MELK enough for a date night or a family outing - it's truly a charming spot that everyone will enjoy!
This place gets crowded like the downtown location. It is much bigger though. The decaf soy latte I got here was much more roasted than the one I remember having downtown. There are about 11 tables or so to work from & a small front outdoor patio. It's cozy. The pastries here are bomb. They are not organic like the coffee is, but so good.
One of my favorite coffee places in Montreal. Only thing is it is small so sometimes you might not find a place to sit... Other than that, the coffee is really good, service & even their little pastries! The milk chocolate banana muffin 🧁 was a delight 💜
A bit pricey but the coffee is nice, love that they have maple flavoring. What really makes it good is the vegan options! The vegan brownie (with I think walnuts & fudge inside) & the chewy lavender lemon cookie are soooo delicious & it's hard finding vegan pastries in the neighborhood. The only reason I didn't give this a higher rating- & I did want to- is they allow dogs inside. Dogs do not belong where food is prepared & served.
Good vibes at the coffee shop, a place that you can tell people come to do work, very small space & tables though. There were literally rows of people on laptops inside, me being one of them. Space was clean & cool inside.
I went on a short break from work, the young boy or girl (I'm not sure what it was) who served me for some reason that I don't know had a very bad attitude, I am very cordial in general with everyone, I would hesitate very much to put someone like that serving the public in my business. Another thing aside from that, the coffee is very good.

I love their fresh scones, which are baked on site daily, crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside & very low sugar, great to compliment with a Macadamia-Nut-Milk Latte. Temperature & consistency of the latte is always perfect. The Lavender Latte is very unique, but a bit too sweet for my taste. The venue is small indoors so seating is hit or miss, but they do have a nice outdoor seating area which works well, temperature permitting.
The scones are delicious! A must if you're a scone lover. I had blueberries & dark chocolate. Muffins are very good also! The coffee blend is too acidic for me. But that's just preference.
Melk on Monkland is a great neighborhood cafe. the coffee drinks are certainly passable but please note: their coffee beans for sale are not in the same league as ones you would get from Pista, St. Henri, or Detour - on the Francophone side of town. These are truly mediocre (& expensive) in spite of the fancy descriptions & beautiful packaging. Believe me, I have tried a bunch hoping this was not the case. All in all a nice neighborhood spot though.
