Review Summary

MELK Café is widely regarded as a premier destination for high-quality, rich coffee, lattes, and matcha, with many patrons praising the consistent flavor and professional preparation of their beverages. The bakery selection, particularly the scones, muffins, and cookies, consistently receives positive feedback for quality and taste. While the atmosphere is frequently described as cozy, welcoming, and vibrant, the popularity of the location often leads to a crowded environment where seating can be difficult to find. Some visitors find the space becomes dominated by individuals working on laptops, which can detract from the relaxed, community-focused vibe that many loyal customers cherish. Despite occasional inconsistencies in service speed or drink quality during peak hours, the staff is generally seen as friendly and efficient, making it a well-loved local institution for both socializing and enjoying a superior cup of coffee.

Great brew, though the scone was slightly overdone. It's crowded because folks use it like a library, grab one drink & camp out forever.

I've had multiple drinks from here & loved all of them! This spot is in a great location & had lovely interior designing. Great for a quick study spot or a place to grab a coffee with a friend. The Matcha was phenomenal as well!

Usually love this place. All the baristas are super friendly & nice to chat with. I reliably get a great drink made well every time I come in (a few times a week). The other day there was someone I'd never seen working who threw off the whole vibe (an older woman maybe mid 40s). She seemed friendly enough with customers but was rushing & stressing while making my drink. She also seemed to snap at the other people working which was very tense & weird to see. I'm not sure if she thought they were moving too slowly or doing something incorrectly but it was way more disruptive to have someone so visibly frustrated than it would've been to wait another minute for a drink. The chaotic energy felt more suited to a starbucks or fast food spot than the cozy local coffeeshop I'm used to. Hoping she was just a trainee (& there's always room to improve!) but, owning a business myself, I'm always happy to receive feedback & wanted to offer my own.

Good drinks & pasteries. We enjoyed the matcha latte, cappuccino, carrot cake & cherry lemon scone. About 25 seats. Gets quite busy & loud on a Saturday am.

Melk on Monkland is a great neighborhood cafe. the coffee drinks are certainly passable but please note: their coffee beans for sale are not in the same league as ones you would get from Pista, St. Henri, or Detour - on the Francophone side of town. These are truly mediocre (& expensive) in spite of the fancy descriptions & beautiful packaging. Believe me, I have tried a bunch hoping this was not the case. All in all a nice neighborhood spot though.

It is really cozy european coffee place. A lot of options & nice options for milk alternative. It is really busy it is not guaranted the place to sit. There is free water to drink that is such a great thing because coffee dehydrates. The stuff is kind & smiley. Thank you

Been coming here for years & drink quality has gone down significantly over the past year. It used to be the coffee would be very acidic when hot, then cool down & become more flavorful. Now the acidity & bitterness continue increasing as the drink cools.

Cute lil café with lots of beverages & snacks! I got a large hot chocolate with dark chocolate & marshmallow, & it tasted very good! Very busy on a Saturday morning, but they serve your drink quite quickly, & they fill it to the brim (I had to drink a few sips before I took my photo, otherwise it would've spilt). Hot chocolate with tip was 6.54$ :)
