We opened our first cafe in 2013 with the mission of offering specialty coffee in a warm and inclusive environment.
During our expansion, we quickly understood that as a company, our central commitment was to our employees. It is with them and thanks to them that everything else is possible.
Reviews describe MELK Café as a place with excellent coffee and pastries, a cozy interior, and a friendly, approachable staff, making it a popular spot for studying or catching up with friends. Many praise the consistency of drinks and baked goods, including muffins and scones, while noting that prices can be a bit high. The café can feel busy due to limited seating and a lively atmosphere, which some patrons enjoy and others find overwhelming. A recurring observation is a shift toward a coworking vibe on weekends, prompting some to call for more laptop free hours to preserve the cafe experience. It remains a favorite for coffee lovers despite occasional noise and a few service quirks.
Great coffee & atmosphere. Very spacious. Knocked one star off for food because I haven't tried their selection of pastries. Lovely place to work - very bright & plenty of sunlight with outdoor seating.
Nice cafe on Monkland. Service was quick & efficient. Coffee is good, prices are a bit high. Lots of pastries if you want something to eat. Seating is quite limited & the tables are quite small & close together.

Perfect petit café. My latte was perfect.👌 The flavour was rich. It was hot & it came with a heart. I tried a Blueberry-chocolate chip scone which was very good too. My friend had a cafe alongé with warmed milk, but she said mine was better.
Great service & relaxed vibe in Monkland village. Thank you barista for a proper cappuccino (i.e., I can taste the espresso as opposed to having a cup of hot milk! ;)
Will be back.
Good drinks & pasteries. We enjoyed the matcha latte, cappuccino, carrot cake & cherry lemon scone. About 25 seats. Gets quite busy & loud on a Saturday am.
The coffee is great. But the music is exceptional: whoever curates the playlist / nudges Spotify in a certain direction is overseeing the best cafe tunes around

Good service & a beautifully designed interior, but the cappuccino was one of the weakest I've had-barely any foam. For a high-end third-wave coffee shop, it was a disappointing experience.
Love my Vanilla Latte from here, usually I would go for a savoury scone (Cheddar, Onion & Cumin). But recently tried the berry & oranges which was pretty good too. I would say it is bit on the pricey side- I ended up spending like $12 for a Small latte & a scone.
Great 3rd wave filter coffee (on the darker side but not French roast), pastries Coffee seems consistently good across the other spots in the chain. This location is spacious enough to host one's study session or a date but feels less local
Melk is the best! Every single staff member is so friendly & wonderful, & they make such great coffee! It's always such an amazing start of my day to stop in for my morning latte. Thank you so much to the entire Melk team, I hope to keep seeing you for many years to come!
