Cool pub. Has kind of an Irish pub feel. Server was great.
Pretty decent selection of beers which seems to be unusual in Montréal for some reason. For example, multiple IPAs whereas a lot of places seem to have just a couple. & often, the servers don't seem to know much about the beers. In Mcleans' case, the server was knowledgeable.
Really liked the fish & chips. Mainly the fish part. Chips were ok.
Doesn't look like much from the street but decent inside.
Prices were competitive with what I've seen elsewhere.
Price for three IPAs, fish & chips & a small pizza was about $70 US.
You gotta go & look into the men's restroom downstairs. The urinals are made from old beer kegs. Something to see. Surprisingly functional. Ladies, the men's room is down the hall past the women's restroom. Be careful. The door was wide open & you could get quite a view.

I am a little late with the following comments & well-wishes, nonetheless, I am writing in order to express my sincere gratitude to Dave & Nes, both bartenders & all -around good guys at McLean's Pub located at 1210 Peel Street in Montreal. I was in a bind. Thirteen friends of mine were in town ready to watch the final games of the EPL season-May 25, 2025-with a real focus on the Chelsea v. Nottingham game. All of the places suitable to watch the game could not accommodate such a crowd when I came to them, the day before (not my fault), seeking to make a reservation for 14. I went to McLean's & made a request for a reservation, expecting yet another rejection. Much to my surprise, Dave & Nes, were friendly & professional in the way that they handled my time-sensitive request. They understood the importance of football as central to family & friends coming together. They took care of the logistics & were able to hook it up & get us a table.
In short, we had a great time. Dave was great at quickly quenching the group's thirst & ensuring more than adequate sustenance. Couldn't have asked for better guys to help out. Food, drink & service-all excellent. Dave & Nes are the primary reason I continue to visit the location when friends are in town. I highly recommend McLean's with a special emphasis on the service Dave & Nes provided for a'proper' viewing of football games-EPL or otherwise. Cheers to them for their courtesies.
To start with I got there around noon. The staff Stava, Baisa, Bobby, Shane, Cici, Luke, & regular patron Eric were so inviting. I'm from the States & 1st time to Canada & Montreal. The people I met casually at McLeans & staff treated Emma n myself like family. So good..... instead of Jazz n Jamaican festival we stayed 12 hours. One of the best times in my life traveling. Will return for sure!
I was in Montreal for a day & stopped in at McLean's for an early lunch. It was a weekday & I was the first patron. Warmly greeted by the gal behind the bar. Ordered the bacon poutine (DEFO!!) & 911 wings. A definite do over, would highly recommend!
Last week, my colleagues & I went to Mclean's after our restaurant & the one next door had a fire. We went in, & they greeted us in such a warm way. They constantly filled up our water glasses, gave us coffee & nachos on the house. That warm gesture really touched me because they could've simply told us'buy something or you can't sit here'. People like that remind me that there is still a sense of community in this cold world. Thank you to all the employees for their kindness.
Our last day in Montreal & we were looking for a pub for some food & atmosphere. McLeans's Pub did not disappoint. The staff were overly welcoming & helpful with suggestions on food. The atmosphere was exactly what we wanted for a pub night out. I would recommend McLean's Pub for anyone looking for a great night out.
Stav was the absolute best! Took care of us & the whole bar & restaurant. Great experience! If you visit Montreal don't leave without visiting McLeans Pub!
