Reviews for Manchu Wok
Horrible food that made me sick. I got the honey garlic chicken with noodles. The sauce was so acidic & chemically that it caused tooth sensitivity. & within 2 hours I had intestinal cramps, diarrhea & felt sluggish all day. I'm a healthy young person, so all this was shocking. This food & the tone of MSG inside it is poison. Never again.
Went to the Manchu Wok in the food court of Fairview. Compared to the locations in Ontario, this one had very few options & not a great variety. It was just variations of chicken & variations of beef. I would've liked to see fish, shrimp & pork options too. The green beans were OK, I would've liked them a bit softer, they seemed a bit undercooked. The fried rice was a bit bland. The sweet & sour chicken was good though.
I will say, for the price I paid, the plate didn't look like it would fill me up. However it certainly did.
Ordered the 2 choices meal. Received mostly a container of bland noodles. The meat dishes tasted ok but had barely any meat & the same vegetables (peppers & onions) & sauce with both the chicken & the beef. Would not return.
been to manchu woks in angrignon, laval, & ontario & this one is by far the worst of thise even though it was ok. The food was ok but they ran out of chicken at the end of the day & the other stuff was not so good. The service could be better but not the worst.
Being a former employee, Manchu Wok's are notorious for being mediocre. This one in particular is a strange situation. They cut corners pretty much anyway they can. The noodles that's supposed to be their best selling item is just'noodles' not bean sprout, no cabbage & very very little sauce. Granted that the chicken is the original company chicken that's usually a lot better than the one they batter & fry themselves, the sauce again didn't deliver at all. I couldn't tell any difference between Honey garlic & general Tao, it all tasted like just sweet chicken with a thick layer of sugar. The stir fries looked very old so just pass. Takeout is given with the same box for anything that you order so a 20 dollar item will be the same quantity as the 12 dollar one. That's the only Manchu Wok that doesn't give bags to put the box in. All in all, just mediocre.
Food was very tender , after eating our meal (sweet & sour pork +general Tao chicken ) we were very impressed. Normally restaurants that serve food in bulk like that have dry food. However, we were pleasantly surprised . The price was very suitable as well for the portion . The meat was very saucy & the veg was very nicely cooked . Was very good service, price , & food portion& quality . :) thank you very much !
