I was there yesterday & now I'm eating the leftovers, heating them in separate corners of the tray so the flavors don't mix: chans masala ( chickpeas), lamb khorma ( original recipe, no cream), biryani rice & bindhi ( okra) on the other side, kebab & naan bread with garlic in the center. I had it with Afghani duk ( yougourt & cucumber drink, not shown). Delicious!!!
I'm a big fan of everything Keema ( minced veal ) they offer 4 different types of it & I was happy. The Keema dishes were good but the butter chicken lacked flavour & the pieces of chicken were very small & had no grill marks like other restaurants do. The naan were nice but the garlic naan had no fresh pieces of garlic like other restaurants do with some fresh green herbs. The chicken biryani was the star of the show it was very delicious. Plus the portion sizes could be bigger. All in all it was ok.
Makkah Restaurant is truly a Hidden GEM! 🌟
The experience feels authentic, & the food is packed with flavor everything hits the spot! This place easily deserves a 5-star rating, & here's why:
1. Freshly baked Garlic Naan that's soft, warm, & aromatic.
2. Rich & creamy Butter Chicken that melts in your mouth.
3. Juicy & flavorful Tandoori BBQ Chicken.
4. Delicious other dishes like Eggplant & Lamb. (I'll apologize if I don't remember what they're called. X_X)
5. Perfectly cooked Kabuli Rice & Biryani Rice.
& to finish, a refreshing Mango Lassi Smoothie that tied the whole feast together. 🥭✨
It was an absolute feast worth every bite & definitely worth your time & money.
I highly recommend this place, it's a must-try spot! 🙌
We went to the restaurant yesterday because we were exploring Quebec & my kids were very hungry so we decided to eat Indian food. I've went to many Indian restaurants but this one standard out the most! We're originally from Ontario & there are many great Indian restaurants over there also. The service is amazing the staff was super nice to us! Even the restaurant its self wasn't pretty small but good. Lastly the food, my family ordered butter chicken, garlic naan, chicken biryani, & mutter keema. Everything was so good & I liked the way they made the butter chicken it was a new taste for me. The prices are also pretty decent, me & my family had a good meal in $60. Definitely recommend coming here if you're visiting Montreal or Quebec City. The best thing on their menu is the chicken biryani definitely must try again! Also, my son ordered Gulab Jamun & the portion was good! There were 3 pieces & enough to fill 1-3 people! Hope this review helped!😊
I have to be honest this restaurant left quite an impression on me. From the moment I walked in, I could sense the inviting atmosphere & the enticing aroma of spices.
Now, let's dive into the food – it was nothing short of spectacular. The Chicken Tikka Masala was incredibly tender & packed a punch of flavor, & the Biryani was like a masterpiece. But the absolute highlight had to be the Butter Chicken it was creamy, savory, & utterly irresistible.
& the service? Well, it was spot-on. The staff wasn't just friendly they were genuinely passionate about their cuisine. They took the time to describe the dishes & even offered suggestions based on our preferences. It's those personal touches that make dining out truly enjoyable.
This place is a must-visit.
In a nutshell, this restaurant absolutely earns its five stars. It's not just about the food it's about the experience. If you're looking for a memorable dining escapade, this spot is a must-try.
