I used to love this place back when it was in a basement location during my uni days, so I was really excited to drop by their new location to relive my favorite Lu Rou Fan. Unfortunately, it was a deeply disappointing visit. There was only one server working. Upon entering, I wasn't seated-he handed me a menu & told me to find a table myself. After taking my order, no water or utensils were brought over. After waiting a very long time, the server finally noticed me while delivering food to a customer who arrived after I did. He looked confused & asked me'what was your order?' Only then heading to the kitchen. That's when I realized my order was completely forgotten.
Eventually, I had to leave on an empty stomach because I had an upcoming appointment. I didn't yell or scold the server-I even told him kindly that if the food wasn't being made, not to worry about it, & that I'd try coming back another time. He didn't apologize or say a single word back. I understand everyone is working hard & he was clearly overwhelmed, but the lack of basic customer service was glaring. During my wait, I even saw a group of seven walk in & leave after no one greeted or attended to them.
I hope management addresses these operational issues soon. Maybe I'll give it another try in the future, but today was a huge letdown.

Wonderful place! They relocated recently, but the food & service are beyond exceptional! The fried chicken is to die for. My wife & I are visiting from NY & can't wait to come back!

I did not catch the name of our server this evening but I had the best service I've ever had tonight. The food was astounding & I can't wait to eat my leftovers. Get the kimchi. Seriously.

We ordered the Lu Rou Fan & Tonkatsu Chicken Omurice. The Chicken one was good, very savory, for me the Lu Rou Fan was a little salty but my boyfriend said it's catch up to his taste. We had to wait for service but it was crowded during that time & our server is good!

We ate dinner here. Two adults & two children. We ordered Taiwanese basil fried chicken, beef yaki udon, pork belly rice, chicken katsu curry omurice, & tempura shrimp. Everything was absolutely delicious. I wish we had more time in Montreal just to go back & have another meal. In addition to the food, our server was helpful, answered our questions, gave superb recommendations & he was friendly & courteous.

The chicken was very raw. No excuses since they cut it into strips themselves after cooking, so the inside was entirely visible to both the kitchen & servers. They thought it would be acceptable to only comp my one meal, had to ask for the whole bill to be waved. Restaurant was dark so we only noticed halfway through our meal. Service was lovely though.

What a fantastic hidden gem! Food was great & very reasonably priced. Friendly & attentive family run restaurant that doesn't disappoint. Awesome to see such a place in Montreal!
