A live show is the ultimate entertainment, there's no debate here. But if you're going to offer it in a restaurant setting, you better step it up a notch.
We saw Derek Fall it they were pretty solid! Very entertaining, engaging, diversified. More a all-rounder than blues per se but still excellent! The sax player stole the show & we even had a 8 years old little girl play the piano with them!! That was really something!
Menu offer is good (although has it's aberrations) but execution lacks a bit. Mussels in the jambalaya are sketchy (traces of dry & old meat in the shell). Wagyu ground beef? Give me a break! Pasta are bland, need to ask for salt (which took a while, friend's meal was cold by the time it came). Tartare was warm, that's scary!
Prices are steep : 1$ per calamari bite, 10$ domestic beer, 15$ glass of wine... Over the show surcharge (15$ in the main room). 2 person meal + alcool is over 250. I have no issue paying for the show, but you can't charge twice (explicitly + higher food price). I honestly expected to be treated better for those figures. Which brings us to service...
Service is where we have a real issue. At the end of the meal, 3½ hours after sitting down, the empty glasses from pre-dinner aperitif were still on the table. Along the whole meal plates & drinkware.
The waitress, who didn't seem to want to be there that night, only came to us every 45 minutes or so & made mistakes on the orders & bills. We ended up walking up to the bar to place drinks order on multiple occasions. It felt it was our responsibility to make sure we had enough to drink.
She could have easily sold twice as much drinks if she visited more often. Didn't offer coffee & brought the bills before we were done. Also brought the cake without plates or cutlery. & then openly complained about the poor tip she got.
Since I was the one organizing the group for a birthday, I wanted to pay for everybody's'show fee' but never had the chance to tell the staff. Bills came too quickly.
Not sure I'll visit again. Maybe in the bar section, seemed a more proper option.View more

Super soirée avec spectacle jazz. Beaucoup d'ambiance. Le decor kitsch est super réussi avec de multiples chandeliers & une boule disco qui nous mettent tout de suite à la fête. Grandes tables parfaites pour les groupes mais des sections avec des tables à 2 sont aussi disponibles. Les musiciens étaient incroyables. La nourriture était bien correcte, bonnes portions, servi chaud & de bonne qualité. Certaines tables autour de nous ont attendu longtemps avant d'être servi mais ont été compensés par un cadeau de la maison. Très belle expérience en général !View more
I have been to this restaurant several times in the last few months. While the service is usually quite slow, the atmosphere usually makes up for it. Had booked it for Friday to celebrate my birthday & what a disappointment. We had the reservation for 7:30 PM & had our main dish served at 10:45 PM & that was 2 hours after we got our appetizer. The restaurant was almost empty by that time. Several guests of my party had to leave without getting a main dish. The waitress never really informed us of any delays. We had to chase after our waitress to ask for an update on our main course twice. The 20 minute wait we were informed about, turned out to be an hour.
What's even worse, a table near by got their food before us & were done by the time we got ours & their reservation was an hour later than ours.
By the time we finished eating they were cleaning the tables. We asked to have the birthday cake brought & had to remind the waitress again after a 20 minute wait.
Never got any followups or apologies other than when they brought the bills, blaming it on the slow service in the kitchen.View more
The service was friendly & the atmosphere was nice. However, it took an entire HOUR to receive our appetizers. What's worse, the table next to us ordered 20 minutes after we did & still got their food 30 minutes before us. For the price we paid, I definitely expected better. We had to ask the waiter about our order before getting any explanation otherwise, who knows how much longer we would've waited. The food smelled great but tasted just average, & honestly, it was disappointing. The restaurant wasn't even busy when we arrived, so there's no excuse for such a delay. Our waiter tried to make up for it afterwards, but by then it was too late. We left no tip. Do better.View more

Mauvaise surprise. J'aime bien le menu de la Maison du Jazz, mais j'y suis allé pour un anniversaire. J'AI ÉTÉ FORCÉ DE MANGER CE QUE JE NE VOULAIS & PAS PAYER 53 dollars & 10 dollars supplémentaires pour la musique plus le service & les taxes. J'avais envie de manger le TARTARE DE SAUMON. & je n'ai pas pu manger, le menu de la fête était horrible ! ATTENTION ! J'ai fêté mon anniversaire là-bas ! This was our first time at the restaurant & will defined be the last. Food was of cafeteria quality & expensive (my husband & I paid 225$ for 2 course dinners & 2 drinks). The jazz was disappointing as it was very loud & not the soft jazz you could have a nice dinner with your partner while listening to it. We had to scream to hear each other. Shout out to Alex who was an amazing server, very knowledgeable & very enthusiastic about his job.View more

L'ambiance, la décoration & la musique méritent un solide 5 étoiles c'est vraiment un endroit magnifique. Nous y sommes allés un samedi soir pour souligner une fête, & on s'attendait à une belle soirée. Par contre, le service laisse à désirer. Malgré la tenue éclatante de la serveuse, son air était à désirer & personne n'est venu nous voir une seule fois pour savoir si tout allait bien ou si nous souhaitions autre chose à boire. Il fallait littéralement faire signe pour attirer l'attention, & le service était lent tout au long de la soirée. À la fin, environ 4 factures sur 6 comportaient des erreurs, ce qui a causé pas mal de confusion. Même à l'extérieur, quelqu'un s'en est rendu compte & a voulu revenir pour corriger. Bref, c'était assez compliqué… & il faisait très chaud en haut, ce qui n'a pas aidé à rendre l'expérience plus agréable.View more
