This isn't our first time at Mai Thai in Montreal, & the food always feels authentic.
Everything we ordered was genuinely good. The yellow curry is the best I've ever had. Kra Pao Moo Krob, Khao Soi, & Red Curry were all rich & well-balanced. The crispy seafood with fingerroot & the thick, crispy Thai omelet were also spot on. We actually came here yesterday for Pad Thai & Som Tum, & the Som Tum was so good we had to order a second plate!
To top it off, the staff is very polite, friendly, & welcoming. A really solid spot if you're craving real Thai food in Montreal.
Absolutely delicious! I've tried quite a few Thai restaurants in Montreal, & this is definitely my fav!
The papaya salad was so authentic, it really reminded me of home. The red curry was rich & full of flavor, & the crispy pork with kale was excellent. The pork was perfectly crispy & honestly better than what I've had at many restaurants back in Thailand.
Everything tasted fresh & authentic, & you can tell they really care about the quality of the food. I'll definitely be coming back whenever I'm craving Thai food. Highly recommend!
I ordered takeout from this Thai restaurant & overall the food was good, with a few highlights & a few disappointments. The chicken with peanut sauce was delicious, the sauce was rich, creamy, & very flavorful. The Pad Thai also tasted good, but it was disappointing that my request for no bean sprouts was overlooked. While it wasn't a huge issue, paying attention to special requests would make the experience much better.
The crispy pork had a nice crispy texture, but it was a bit too salty for my taste. Overall, the quality of the food was good, & I would order it again.
Although I ordered takeout, I noticed that the restaurant's air conditioning didn't seem to be working, & the ventilation system wasn't effectively removing the cooking smoke. The dining area looked quite smoky & uncomfortable. On the positive side, the restaurant does have an outdoor terrace, which seems like it would be a much more pleasant option for anyone dining in.
Overall, the food was enjoyable, especially the chicken with peanut sauce, but the restaurant could improve by paying closer attention to customer requests & addressing the air conditioning & ventilation issues to provide a more comfortable environment for dine in guests.
Great foods & great service. Their fried foods are so crispy & tasty with good portion. Tomyum & salad were very flavourful. We also loved their crispy pork!
Crispy pork with kale is incredibly delicious, I highly recommend it! It makes me miss Thailand.
As authentic as it gets! My favorite Thai restaurant in Montreal. I've been back here many times. My go-to dishes are pad see ew & pad kra pao (crispy pork is a MUST), but honestly, everything is delicious :) If you're craving something sweet, don't miss the Thai iced tea & mango sticky rice!
If you, like us, periodically require a'spicy food fix,' then allow me to point you toward our latest choice: @maithaicuisine.mtl. We came in with a craving… & left very satisfied with the heat.
To their credit, they offer different levels of spice. We politely-but firmly-encouraged them to treat'spicy' as a personal challenge. What arrived was essentially a bowl of Thai peppers with enough seeds to qualify as a horticultural project. 🔥 We gleefully mixed them into everything for the full, glorious, sinus-clearing experience. Zero regrets. Minimal remaining taste buds. 😅
We began with the absolutely incredible Bang Bang Tornado Shrimp-succulent shrimp wrapped in crispy, seasoned noodles that shattered with each bite. It was crunchy, savory perfection & disappeared from the plate at a suspiciously rapid pace.
For mains, we dove into a crispy pork stir-fry that was cooked to perfection-beautifully caramelized with just the right amount of fat (makes you close your eyes mid-bite 🤤 🤤). The Pad See Ew was equally outstanding: tender noodles, rich flavor, & the ideal balance to our self-inflicted spicy inferno. 🌶?
Naturally, we washed it all down with Thai iced tea, a sweet, creamy firefighter rescuing us from our own bravado. Absolute perfection.
A special shoutout to our server, Gooi, who was amazing-helpful, lightning-fast, & completely unfazed by our enthusiastic pepper requests. A true professional.
All in all, it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. We left happy & slightly glowing. If you're craving bold flavors, excellent service, & love spicy food, pay them a visit. Just maybe stretch first 😂 🍲 🌶?

I went to Mai Cuisine Thai yesterday for a cozy birthday lunch with my grandma, & it honestly couldn't have been more perfect.
This spot has been one of my favorites for a while. The space feels warm & inviting, with exposed brick & a colorful elephant mural that immediately makes it feel comforting & lived-in. It was snowing lightly outside, & watching the flurries through the window while sitting inside felt so peaceful. They also play a fun pop playlist, which I always appreciate.
My grandma loves spring rolls, so bringing her here felt like an obvious choice. We started with my staple appetizers. The vegetarian spring rolls, made from scratch in-house, are still my favorite. Perfectly crispy without being greasy, with fresh vegetables that still have a nice crunch, plus a sweet dipping sauce that ties everything together. Such a great birthday snack.
We also ordered the Thai hot wings, which come in a very close second place for me & are something I constantly crave. They were hot, juicy, & nicely crispy, coated in a spicy-sweet sauce with just enough heat to be exciting without overwhelming your taste buds.
I had my usual creamy Thai iced tea, & my grandma ordered ginger tea to warm her up.
Since we weren't very hungry, we shared the chicken pad Thai, which was comforting, balanced, & perfect for sharing.
When I mentioned it was my birthday, the sweet server brought me their homemade mango ice cream. Light, refreshing, & such a lovely way to end the meal.
Mai Cuisine Thai is one of those places that feels like a pause from busy city life. Cozy, welcoming, & made for slow lunches & good company. I loved introducing my grandma to one of my favorite gems in the city & celebrating a new year of life in such a simple, meaningful way.
We had a wonderful experience dining at Mai Thai. We were a group of 7 people, celebrating my uncles 90th birthday. We ordered the papaya salad, & calamari, they were incredible. The house sauces were humming with the right balance of sweet, sour & spicy.
For the mains, we ordered pad thai with shrimp, two from their signature collection, the crispy pork with Thai basil & green curry with chicken. Everything was outstanding & delish. The food is cooked in an open kitchen & our server Goui, ( I hope I got your name right! ) was such sweet & lovely person.
Nothing was overly spicy, we loved all the dishes, the portions were generous & the flavours very authentic.
The mango sticky rice, was just the right note to finish the night.
A fantastic combination of authenticity, flavour, great food & cozy ambience.
Can't wait to be back soon.
I can confidently say this was one of the best Thai meals I've ever had! Absolutely authentic, incredibly flavorful, & made with so much care. Every dish we ordered was a hit, & the service was just as impressive!
We started with the Bang Bang Shrimp Tornado, Thai Hot Wings, & crispy calamari, all cooked to perfection. The shrimp had the perfect crunch with that addictive sweet-spicy glaze, the wings were full of bold Thai flavor, & the calamari was tender inside with just the right crispiness.
For our mains, we had the Pad Thai, Fried Rice, & Drunken Noodles, each one was packed with flavor & had that signature balance of sweet, spicy, savory, & tangy that Thai cuisine is known for. The Drunken Noodles in particular were a standout - perfectly chewy noodles, fresh veggies, & a bold sauce with just the right heat.
On top of the amazing food, the service was truly 10/10. The staff were friendly, attentive, & made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.
If you're craving authentic Thai food that's bursting with flavor & served with heart, this is the place. I'm already planning my next visit!
