We stopped here for a coffee on the terrace in the sun, but then had a very nice breakfast. The staff were very friendly & the food was very good. So why only 4 stars? When we arrived at about 10.45, we asked if we could have coffee, & the waiter hesitated before saying yes & then giving us a lunch menu each. It was only when we looked at other tables we saw that they had a smaller menu. So we asked what they were, & we were told they were breakfast menus. We then asked if breakfast was still available & were told "yes". So, we ordered from the smaller menu & had a lovely breakfast
Une terrasse très sympa pour déjeuner. Nous y avons bien mangé, les frites étaient top mais surtout surtout le service est 5 étoiles ! Pascal & Larissa sont tous les deux adorables. Ils ont été aux petits soins pour nous, nous venons de France & ils ont répondu à toutes nos questions avec plaisir. Vraiment un service de grande qualité. Ça donne envie de revenir sans hésiter ! & on le fera !

Nice restaurant & good food once they got it right. Vegetables were great, but the first filet mignon steaks were way overcooked. They gave us new ones cooked perfectly, but the flavor was good not great. The wine was average price for Montreal. They also provided a complimentary dessert which was excellent. Overall good meal after some effort. Worth another try.
A short walk from our hotel, we chose Maggie Oates because another review mentioned it had a kids menu. Turns out that was limited but it had the essential - chicken tenders & French fries. The salmon was excellent as well as the shrimp cocktail. The service was outstanding.
This was one nice evening. We were greeted warmly at the door & the hostess accommodated our request for a booth. The place is clean & spacious & our server came over within moments to make sure we were comfortable. Menu is good, with a nice selection for most palates I would say. We ordered a porterhouse to share & it was very generously cut, cooked skillfully & came nicely presented on a board with a ton of veg. Try all the sauces! Someone back there in the kitchen is really good at that stuff. Wine list is well curated & a good range of prices. Our server was very personable & genuinely friendly.
Exceptional Service & Fresh Food at Maggie Oakes! This was our second visit to Maggie Oakes (426 Pl. Jacques-Cartier, Montréal), & it happened to be on our anniversary! We didn't make a reservation, but the staff were accommodating & welcoming. The food was incredibly fresh & delicious! The service was attentive, prompt, & went above & beyond. One memorable moment that stood out was when we accidentally dropped a spoon, & a staff member (unfortunately, I didn't catch his name) quickly replaced it for us from a distance. What impressed us even more was that he said, "I heard you from afar & knew you'd need a new one!" This small gesture speaks volumes about the exceptional service at Maggie Oakes. The staff's attention to detail & anticipation of our needs made us feel truly valued. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone! The combination of fresh food & outstanding service makes it a must-visit destination. We'll definitely be back!
We have visited this restaurant several times, & our first experience was truly memorable. It was a delightful occasion as we celebrated a special two-person dinner. The food was exceptionally delicious, & the ambiance was unique & charming. I highly recommend.

I had brunch here, & really enjoyed the atmosphere. The serving staff were all super friendly & helpful picking between two items when I was indecisive. I really enjoyed the Avocado toast I had, one of the very best. The only disappointing item I had was the Earl Grey Mocktail, which wasn't terrible, just not 10$ good for a non-alcoholic drink. Highly recommend going here for a lovely meal.
The place was very comforting clean polite & attentive. That being said I believe the bagel with cream cheese & lox was overpriced & definitely underachieved. Three guests we all enjoyed a very delicious breakfast & it was plentiful. I would recommend it for a comfortable breakfast & relaxing lunch

Called & spoke to Alex. He booked my reservation for 16. The service was great food was great & everyone was happy. great place & very professional people Would 100 percent recommend
Really great food, we enjoyed the salmon, filet mignon, shrimp cocktail & crispy shrimp remoulade, & the tataki was amazing, a real work of food art! The staff was a bit jammed the night we were there, but they poured me extra wine to make up for it, & we didn't mind.
Maggie Oakes consistently delivers exceptional food quality, although it may lack the vibrant atmosphere some might seek. The music tends to be overly commercial, & while the service is adequate, the location poses challenges for those arriving by car due to limited nearby parking. During brunch, we thoroughly enjoyed the beef & waffles, smoke meat Benedict, & omelet-all dishes were met with approval.😋 Despite a minor hiccup with our mimosas arriving after our meals, it's not a deal-breaker, & I'd still consider returning for another visit.
We walked in as a party of 7 around 1pm & were seated immediately. Staff was friendly & quick. The Croissant à la dinde rôtie, the turkey croissant, was great. The croissant was flaky & the cheddar was sharp. Avocado was very fresh too. Others at the table loved the shrimp & lobster salad sandwich, as well as the burger & the beef & waffles. Nicely decorated too
