We went for my boyfriend's birthday & everything was amazing! Got the oysters as appetizer - super fresh & delicious. For main we shared a steak cooked perfectly medium 👌👌 At the end they did put a candle on our dessert. 10/10 ❤? thank you!
If the review was based solely on the food it would be a 3 star review but the wait staff were excellent & it is a nice establishment. The positives in terms of food items were for me the Ceasar salad & for the GF the salmon tartare. However, my 10oz striploin main was of poor quality but cooked to a perfect medium rare. Basically the steak had no marbling hence lacked that buttery tenderness. My GF indicated the paste & lobster main was underwhelming. Lobster was skimpy & what there was, was tough. Will not return. But again the wait staff was superlative. No photos of the mains available.

Maggie Oakes si è rivelata un'ottima scelta per inaugurare la nostra prima sera a Montréal. Il locale ci ha colpito fin da subito per l'atmosfera elegante ma informale, con un tocco contemporaneo che ben si integra nel cuore del Vieux-Montréal.
Abbiamo ordinato carne frollata per 45 giorni: tenera, saporita, con una marezzatura semplicemente perfetta che esaltava ogni boccone. Una vera esperienza per gli amanti della carne, con cottura impeccabile e grande attenzione al dettaglio.
Il personale, giovane e dinamico, si è dimostrato estremamente cordiale ed efficiente, contribuendo a rendere la serata ancora più piacevole. Il servizio è stato rapido, ma mai frettoloso, con ottimi consigli anche sulla scelta del vino.
La location è strategica, facilmente raggiungibile e immersa in un quartiere vivace e affascinante. Da non dimenticare il bellissimo terrazzo rialzato: spazioso, curato e con una vista gradevole sulle vie circostanti, perfetto per godersi la cena all'aperto durante le serate estive.
In sintesi, un ristorante che unisce qualità, atmosfera e servizio: consigliatissimo.
Un service 5 étoiles Michelin de Bruce. C'est simple : meilleur service AU MONDE. Gentil, attentionné, charmant… oui, il a un petit air condescendant, mais c'est ce qui fait son charme. On a vraiment kiffé notre soirée, & grâce à lui, on a redécouvert le Vieux-Port comme si c'était la première fois. Merci Bruce pour l'expérience, t'es une légende.
I looked forward to trying Maggie Oakes & expected divine beef. On the waiter's suggestion I had the cheeseburger instead of Bavette steak. The burger meat was near tasteless with no seasoning evident. Lots of good toppings so it was okay overall but I expected better. The service seemed inexperienced & slow. It was hard to find someone when we wanted to pay the bill.

My wife & I experienced the BEST petit dejeuner (breakfast) of our lives while on a business trip to Montreal earlier this week.
We're Americans in our 50's, have traveled the world, live in a town with great restaurants, & this breakfast was hands down THE BEST, from the food, to the service, to the ambience, to the customer vibe.
I love poached eggs, & often make them at home using a technique taught to me by a hotel chef.
The ones they served, however, I've never seen before. I've been searching all over the internet trying to find out how they cooked them!
We are definitely returning to Montreal & plan to eat at Maggie Oakes again!

La bavette de boeuf & le contrefilet étaient délicieux! L'accord met-vin proposé par Amélie G, le barolo, se mariait très bien avec la viande! Je recommande vivement :)
Tucked in Old Montréal, Maggie Oakes is a nice mix of warm ambiance & top-tier grill fare. The filet mignon is rich, tender, & dripping in flavor, exactly what you want from a steakhouse cut. The tuna & beef tartare dishes stand out too...bright, fresh, & seasoned well
