L’Olive Noire is a rich and colorful restaurant. The framework of L’Olive Noire is in itself an invitation to travel.
It is in our restaurant you will find North Africa fine cuisine and especially traditional Moroccan dishes. The star dish is couscous, which is available in different versions, the classic being the lamb couscous. L’Olive Noire is located in Montreal, Ontario Street East, Pie-IX metro station.
You will be greeted by the owner himself, in a warm atmosphere with oriental back ground music.
Across reviews, L'Olive Noire is praised for authentic Moroccan flavors, especially tagines and couscous, with generous portions that feel like good value. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, described as a true North African dining experience, with friendly and attentive service that helps guests understand the culture. Many dishes such as lamb tagine, chicken tagine, pastilla, and other Moroccan staples are highlighted as consistently delicious and well seasoned. Some notes mention that water is not always provided for free and that prices can be high, but most reviewers feel the food and overall experience justify a visit and many say they would return.
Nourriture excellente. Nous avons passé une excellente soirée avec des amis & le personnel a été top. Nous pu rester assez longtemps pour discuter sans être pressé par les employés. Un vrai moment de détente autour de bons plats.
An authentic Moroccan dining experience ! The lamb couscous with dried fruits was absolutely incredible. It was flavorful & perfectly cooked. The portion sizes were generous. The owner provided exceptional service, making us feel truly welcome. Highly recommend !
L'Olive Noire offers a satisfying taste of Morocco right here in Montréal. With my Moroccan friend as a guide, I can confirm the authenticity of the flavors. The food is delicious & well-prepared. A great choice for a Moroccan meal in the city 🇲🇦

L'Olive Noire stands out as the best Moroccan restaurant in Montréal. The food is consistently well-prepared & authentically captures the essence of Moroccan Amazigh/North African cuisine. While I've never dined in person, I've been ordering from them for over four years & have found their dishes to be the best among many international restaurants I've tried. Each dish reflects a touch of love & care. Unlike many places where service & quality decline over time, this restaurant maintains its high standards. They have truly made me fall in love with Moroccan cuisine. Although my interactions with them have been limited to phone calls, the staff has always been kind & friendly. Their food deserves more than a five-star rating.
Incroyable !
This place was recommended by a friend Such a nice restaurant . the food, & the service was the best. I highly recommend this restaurant! We need more restaurants like this one in the city ! Thanks for the food & service !
There are many excellent restaurants east of Pie IX on Ontario Street that are quite fine. If you have a taste for Moroccan or Algerian food, L'Olive Noire's flavors are something you must try. I've dined here on several occasions & each time the consistency of excellence has made me & my companions very happy.
A good dive into morrocan food. The place was a bit empty but the food was good. Both the tajines & coucous plates were tasty with great presentation. The only hiccup was a problem with one dish that they didn't correct when asked about it; it reflected the rather average service we've had all evening.
