I've had the veggie plate in the past & it was great, hot, full of flavour, big portion, fresh & came with hot sauces you could add on. I went yesterday & the portion was smaller but not small so not the big issue. The big issue was the plantain was cold so at first I thought this was a bit of a disappointment but I'll keep eating it. Next bite did not taste fresh. Gave some to my friend to try, she liked it but also found it tasted like mold. Tried another bite, even more moldy I was afraid to swallow. Next bite, very mushy. After I was done eating I told the 2 staff working there about my experience with the plantain & advised them to not serve it to more customers in the very least. They replied "nothing wrong with the plantain, tastes fine, we made it today." I said "you may have made it today but you've left it out cold & bacteria can grow." They said "we made it today so it's probably just the seasoning. But thanks well tell our manager tomorrow. If you have an issue you can reach out to our manager." & didn't do anything about it. I was really annoyed with the low quality of service because I used to love this restaurant & don't want it to stay like this. Would be such a waste if this issue continues & isn't dealt with immediately. Not even an hour later I got a stomach ache & it lasted like 2-3 hours. Been a client of llyodies since they open in 2017-218 & today was a total let down, I found a ball berring in my cucumber salad, still feeling it through my teeth... Quite unacceptable for a kitchen.View more
We've been coming here for 5 years & they NEVER disappoint. Meat is always tender & falls right off the bone, plantains are juicy & rice is delicious & well seasoned. Whenever we're in the are this place is a MUST. Prices are reasonable for portion sizes & i personally recommend their pork!View more

So...I went basic & tried a beef patty for my first visit & it was OK - lacked Jamaican flava. I tried my friend's veggie patty & that was just downright not good. What I will give five stars for is the amazing sorrel drink as it was definitely hitting! I will come back & give this place another try & select the oxtail & see if that has the Jamaican flavor I'm looking for.View more
Went to Llyodies, yesterday have not been there for two years because last time I went the chicken was MAD dry anyway, Give them a second chance & took the jerk chicken. Took the first bit got up & ask the cashier who did the chicken because that chicken was MAD JUICY, TENDER & THE AMOUNT OF SPICES WAS JUST PERFECT, I had to congrats the cook for it because WOW, I have been eating chicken my whole life but this one was just Amazing! Came here to try the oxtail poutine & it did not disappoint!! The price may seem steep for poutine but the portion is huge & they do not skimp on the oxtail. There was more meat than what a lot of places actually serve in an oxtail plate, & while the poutine could have used more curds, the flavours more than made up for it! I'd actually love to see them offer a smaller version of the plate because while delicious, I probably wouldn't order it for just myself as the portion is so big. We also decided to try a beef patty which had a perfect flakey pastry & delicious filling. They definitely seem to be doing West Indian & Jamaican food right here & I wouldn't hesitate to try more of their menu. Highly recommend!View more
