We had the best vegan breakfast Syrian style, original & authentic
We loved the falafel, ingredients were delicious & fried just perfect, best in Montreal
Note: non vegan is available also, we chose vegan
This was my first Syrian brunch, & it happened on one of those quiet girls' days that stay with you. Just me, my aunt, & my cousin, nowhere to rush off to, choosing a table & choosing each other.
We went to Leymoun, tucked along Rue Dudemaine. Walking in felt less like entering a restaurant & more like being welcomed into someone's home. No waiting, no hovering, no pressure to order fast. Just space to settle in, sip slowly, & talk as long as we wanted.
Brunch started the way it should. With tea.
A big pot of black tea, steeped in-house & ready by the time brunch rolls around. Bold, fragrant, grounding. The kind of tea that invites you to pour another cup without thinking.
What we shared felt designed for lingering.
Petit Déjeuner Platter
A generous spread of Syrian breakfast staples meant to be passed around. Creamy dips, salty cheeses, crunchy vegetables, warm falafel, juicy green olives, & a homemade fig jam that honestly tasted like sunshine. Pomegranate seeds scattered across the plate added little bursts of brightness that kept pulling me back in.
Fatté Hummus au Shawarma
This was the favorite at the table. Creamy hummus layered with yogurt & tahini, topped with tender chicken shawarma, grilled almonds, & crispy pita chips. Rich, tangy, crunchy, spiced. Every bite felt complete.
Shakshuka
Comfort in its simplest form. Soft feta-topped eggs, sautéed onions, tomatoes, & peppers. Nothing fussy. Just satisfying & warm.
Fried Halloumi with Leymoun Sauce
The surprise star. Salty, golden halloumi paired with their signature za'atar, honey, & sesame sauce. Sweet, salty, herby, a little sticky, & very addictive.
Everything tasted thoughtful. Like it was made with the intention of being shared. Plates kept moving, conversations kept unfolding, & time quietly stretched.
This is the kind of brunch that doesn't rush you out the door. It turns into an afternoon without asking.
Foxy Tip: Come with people you love, order for the table, & don't watch the clock. Leymoun is about slowing down & savoring more than just the food. The stories matter too.
I share local gems & cultural eats over on ig @foxyappetite & TikTok @foxy.appetite, & this one truly earned its place.
This meal was comped as part of a media preview. Sharing my honest thoughts above.
I'm usually very critical when it comes to restaurants - for me, it's not just about the food but the whole experience. At this Syrian restaurant, everything was just right. The atmosphere is calm with music at a perfect volume, the place is spotless, & the owner personally took the time to explain the menu since it was our first time trying this type of cuisine. I really appreciated that. We felt not only like a customer, but a welcomed guests.
The food itself was amazing: fresh, flavorful, & beautifully presented. You can feel the care & authenticity in every detail. Highly recommended!

I came with my wife for breakfast & we got the high quality we expected from a Syrian kitchen. The Falafel & Fateh Hummus were very delicious. We are certainly coming back again!
Hands down to one of the most authentic syrian food i have tried ! Wow i mean wow! Much recommend ! The flavours are so so great! 1000 out of 10
Had a nice Syrian breakfast at Leymoun! We tried most of their options such as foul, fatté, eggs & fried halloumi. Everything was delicious. Unlike other Syrian brunch that usually only serve tea, they also served coffee & lemonade. Their lemonade is really good & refreshing! The service was amazing, very nice owner. The restaurant was a bit hot though, they should add an A/C or more fans.
Fantastic food & warm service. Easily one of the best Syrian/Lebanese breakfasts I've had in Montreal. Everything was incredibly fresh & full of flavour.
Amazing authentic Syrian breakfast. Service was great & very fast. Food was amazing.
There is a good reason that this establishment has a solid five stars! I took my parents here for lunch while they were visiting & I have to say that this is some of the best Syrian/Lebanese food in a city that boasts a lot of extraordinary food from this region. The homemade lemonade is especially refreshing & delicious. We were treated very kindly & hospitably. I cannot wait to return!
Delicious food & friendly service. Our first time trying Syrian breakfast & will definitely be coming back!
