Bistro l'Evidence welcomes you in a warm and intimate French-style Brasserie. Located in the heart of Montreal, on St-Denis Street between le Plateau Mont-Royal and the Latin Quarter, this is the perfect place to start the day with a breakfast of champions or to start the evening with quality flavors. L'Evidence offers a complete menu, a la carte as well as table d'hôte. We prepare traditional and healthy recipes with fresh products, regularly varying our table d'hôte based on market arrivals. Enjoy a fresh, original, contemporary cuisine whose variety will appeal to everyone. Our chefs pay special attention to the preparation of dishes that are on offered each day, to ensure that the culinary artworks mingled with the friendly atmosphere meet your expectations, both in terms of quantity and quality. La bouffe était correcte, sans plus. Calamars frits, OK; croûtons au chèvre, OK; mais la souper aux lentilles était tiède & ne goûtait pas grand chose. Qui plus est, on m'a apporté les crôutons avant la soupe sous prétexte que - dixit la serveuse - : "Je n'ai que 2 mains"!
Le resto est destiné aux petits déjeuners. Alors, je ne ferais pas le détour à nouveau pour le souper.

Un happy hour sympatique, quoique la lumiere etait un peu forte. Ce fut un point de rencontre avant un événement ailleurs dans le quartier. Apres avoir consulter la carte j'y retournerais surement

pour le souper de st-valentin, encore une fois incroyable, le menu incluant l apéro pour le prix, cest assez exceptionnel

Dimanche soir, nous étions les seuls clients & la serveuse a manqué un peu à son devoir au sens où elle n'a pas proposé la carte des desserts & nous l'avons cherché à l'extérieur pour lui dire nous étions prêts pour l'addition. La nourriture était bonne & bien présentée. Salade pomme-cheddar, joliment présentée & toute fraîche. J'y retournerais.

Un restaurant ordinaire, mais la nourriture est bonne, à prix abordable, & c'est juste en face du théâtre d'aujourd'hui, un plus.

Excellent choix de restaurant! Bon rapport qualité/prix, l'ambiance est sympathique, le service est convivial & le menu très intéressant! Je n'ai aucun commentaire négatif! Je regrette de ne pas y être entrer avant aujourd'hui! :)

restaurant chaleureux & sympathique. excellent service. il y a un grand choix sur le menu en plus de la table d'hôte très, très abordable & aussi la possibilité d'y prendre le petit déjeuner passé midi. Mon invitée a bien aimé & c'est certain que j'y retourne bientôt . .

Hello. I went with my husband to this restaurant for the New Year's party.The price was 45$ per person.
At first when I saw the menu on the internet it looked attractive..but in reality it proved to be totally different!! First of all, the first ,,meal'' was poor in quantity. (foie gras de canard de barbarie au chutney de figues).
It was just one small peace of foie gras de canard;(ne rasperry with jam was added just to make the plate look fancy)
Before we ate this, I had the impression that they serve too much bread & butter; in other words ,,The more bread with butter you have, the better because there will be lots of salad & no meat")

I was surprised that they didn't give us plates for the bread & butter. When I asked the waiter for plates he looked at me as if I had said smth.wrong?!:).
Second plate according to the NYE menun contained ,,veloute du marche, croutons rotis a l'huile d'olives & parfum de basilic".
Again, poor in quantity, it did not have sauce just oil.
When you think of veloute du marche, you imagine that it might include some jambon maybe & you expect a bigger plate!
Then we had a cream soup (again,too small but it tasted quite good). The third plate contained ,,panache de fines laitues,carpaccio de concombre & poivrons rouges".
This one was small as well & had non sauce, just oil.(nothing special).However it look nice on the plate.
For the 4 plate we had the following options: cheveux d'ange aux fruits de mer, carre d'aigneau roti a la fleur de thym, filet mignon AAA grille,sauce echalote & vin rouge or supreme de volaille grille au miel & noix de pin.
We had chosen fillet mignon grille.Luckly we had good intuition. The loaf meat was well cooked, the rice tasted good, we also had rucolla salad & a small piece of patate gratinee which I enjoyed.
For the 4 plate we had tiramisu maison (it was a bit small but delicious).
The music was great & the ambience was lovely. The waiter was stressed, he barely smiled at us (he had poor knowledge of english). After 12 p.m he came to our table with a glass of champagne to wish us Happy New Year.
I had a great time with my husband although we had been a bit dissapointed about the menu.
