A small bistro located in Villeray at the intersection of two side streets (St-Dominique and Guizot—hence the G) Restaurant Le Coin G is always a popular spot for lunch or dinner. On the weekends they also serve breakfast and brunch, but every day features new chef's specials with interesting ingredients, to keep people coming back for more. A lively bistro occupying a small space, Restaurant Le Coin G is both unpretentious and boisterous. The menu offers a great variety of options, from sandwiches and burgers to pastas, hot and cold appetizers (try the escargots or the crab cakes), salads, fish, the sausage du jour, pork, beef and more. The chef's specials are always appealing and vary from day to day, so you may have to make this a regular stop on your culinary journeys. Excellent repas! Le service est super, quoiqu'un petit peu long, mais sans doute en raison du Tartarefest qui avait lieu lors de notre visite.
Seul petit bemol, nous avions réservé par Internet & lorsque nous sommes arrivés, la réservation n'avait pas été prise en note. Il n'y avait donc plus de places à l'intérieur. Nous avons donc dû attendre pour une place sur la terrasse une vingtaine de minutes. Je vous conseille donc de réserver par téléphone !
Lovely patio on a quiet street with Jarry Park only two blocks away. I requested a vegetarian plate of my own choosing & the chef obliged. Very sweet waitress gave professional service, no hovering & constantly fishing for a tip by repeatedly asking if everything was OK à l'américaine! Good service is invisible service! Kitchen served up our choices hot & on time - the cardinal rules of good restaurant etiquette. Quality varied from good to excellent. My ratatouille was terrific & market fresh. The calamari less successful. Desserts were so-so, especially my carrot cake that had far too much icing & far to little cake & the sugar high I got was immediate & unwelcome. Herbal tea was very good though. Wine list was well chosen & served professionally, including allowing our designated taster to take a sip out of an open bottle before confirming his choice. The French Canadian server was not clued into the meaning on the wine label we chose, so we explained what a "Mas" was in Southern France. All in all, quite an enjoyable evening with friends.

Terrasse bien aménagée & propre, personnel rapide & efficace . Salade croquante mais la vinaigrette manquait d'assaisonnement. bavette de veau cuite à point & savoureuse, frites maison dorées très bonnes.
J'avais contacté le restaurant avant de venir afin de les avertir que je ne pou vais pas manger de plat ayant du gluten.
Le chef & la serveuse étaient également prévenu & on a su me conseiller le plat le plus adapté pour moi. Merci !
Nous aimons beaucoup ce resto pour aller bruncher. Mais est-ce possible que le personnel ait changé? La bouffe n'était pas aussi parfaite que d'habitude.
Service très sympathique, menu de qualité bien exécuté, préparations savoureuses, en particulier pour leur smoothies. Bien qu'il y ait un effort d'originalité avec les desserts, le résultat n'est généralement pas convainquant, sauf pour le fondant au chocolat qui lui, est bien réussi. Les plats étaient excellents, le service était un peu lent, même s'il n'y avait pas d'achalandage. Je le recommande fortement, surtout la poutine à déjeuner!

Service was quick & friendly... Choice of lunchtime menu was varied. Good bistro type food for enjoyable lunch date with friends. Preferred choice for neighborhood eating.

Since moving to Villeray, Coin G has been our favorite brunch spot, so we decided to go on a Friday evening to check out the rest of the menu. I had the salmon burger, & it was really good, & the ambiance is perfect for celebrating the start of the weekend!
