A small bistro located in Villeray at the intersection of two side streets (St-Dominique and Guizot—hence the G) Restaurant Le Coin G is always a popular spot for lunch or dinner. On the weekends they also serve breakfast and brunch, but every day features new chef's specials with interesting ingredients, to keep people coming back for more. A lively bistro occupying a small space, Restaurant Le Coin G is both unpretentious and boisterous. The menu offers a great variety of options, from sandwiches and burgers to pastas, hot and cold appetizers (try the escargots or the crab cakes), salads, fish, the sausage du jour, pork, beef and more. The chef's specials are always appealing and vary from day to day, so you may have to make this a regular stop on your culinary journeys. I saw this little restaurant while I was taking a walk in the neighborhood & decided to try it out! I went with a friend, we got there 15 minutes before our reservations & we were still seated immediately. The waiter was very nice & always made sure our water was full. (I drink so much water & most restaurants forget to fill your glass) so I was very, very happy about this. The water also tasted rather clean compared to most tap water (which I rarely drink unless I'm in a restaurant) I had the beef tartare as an entree & it was fresh & very tasty. As well as the duck confit poutine as a main, which was great but the gravy did come with whole mushrooms which I wasn't expecting & I thought took over the dish. Still delicious. The wine menu is short so your not stuck having to choose between so many wines & the prices are unbeatable. I thought it might've been wrong. But it wasn't. Thank you for a wonderful dinner, Le Coin G. I'll be back soon!
New find in Villeray: cozy atmosphere, excellent service, great 80' s music background music. Generous portions, tasty dishes & well priced. Had the spicy saumon tartare dish & key lime pie. Good wine selection.

J'ai visité le resto avec mon conjoint lundi soir pour souper. D'abord il y a des marches & l'entrée est étroite donc ce n'est pas accessible en chaise roulante. Les chaises sont assez larges & sans accoudoirs donc je trouve que c'est fat friendly (je fais du 3-4x). J'ai mis 4 étoiles pour la serveuse qui était vraiment sympathique & donnait un bon service. Malheureusement, tout ne goûtait presque rien. On a pris des calmars frist en entrée, c'était correct. Mon chum a pris un risotto qui était un peu trop liquide & extrêmement fade. J'ai pris du tartare de saumon épicé avec moitié salade César & frites. Les frites étaient la meilleure chose de la soirée, vraiment bonnes. Le tartare n'était pas épicé & ne goûtait littéralement rien. Il était accompagné de tranches de baguette minces grillées avec un genre de beurre aux herbes mal étendu dessus. La salade César était elle aussi extrêmement fade, la vinaigrette était comme de la mayo diluée avec de l'eau. J'ai pris un gâteau aux amandes pour dessert: Goûtait presque rien Chum a pris un poudding chômeur : c'était brûlant & fade :( J'y retournerais possiblement pour un hamburger car le burger que j'ai mangé en 2018 était vraiment bon. Encore là.... Ça nous a coûté 115$
La sauce des escalopes de veau manquait de goût & d'amour mais le veau était, quant à lui, très tendre.
La tartare de boeuf était excellent, gâché par le goût de poudre d'ail des croûtons secs & sans amour (beurre ou huile d'olive). Les frites était vraiment excellentes.
Le poisson frit était ok mais la panure était loin d'être cette qu'on attends d'un fish & chips.
Les calmars frits devaient être servis avec une sauce au poivrons rouges mais l'on été avec une simple tartare.
Excellent service, ambiance agréable & calme.
Il y a 2 plats qui gagneraient à être améliorés: fondant au chocolat : je ne crois pas que ce soit un fondant. Je pense que c'est de la crème glacée avec un fudge au chocolat.
Le tartare de boeuf manque de goût. Il gagnerait à être épicé.
Personnel ultra sympathique! Mauvaise soirée toutefois pour le tartare de boeuf; morceaux pas suffisamment fins, quelques croquants. Mais j'y retournerai assurément!

Problème avec la commande. J'ai dû expliquer en anglais le problème car personne ne pouvait me répondre en français.

Commandé un burger de porc effiloché il est venu avec une boulette de steak haché & un peu de porc effiloché.
Je crois que vs devriez revoir la façon de faire un burger de porc effiloché.
J'ai changé mon assiette pour tartare de thon qui était délicieux comme d'habitude!
Je suis très contente que les raviolis panés soient de retour au menu car je crois que c'est l'une des entrées incontournables du Coin G! J'ai gouté au tartare de boeuf pour la première fois & il est digne d'un grand restaurant! Le Coin G reste un de mes coups de coeur à Montréal! Le service est impeccable & l'ambiance chaleureuse.

Excellent repas! Le service est super, quoiqu'un petit peu long, mais sans doute en raison du Tartarefest qui avait lieu lors de notre visite.
Seul petit bemol, nous avions réservé par Internet & lorsque nous sommes arrivés, la réservation n'avait pas été prise en note. Il n'y avait donc plus de places à l'intérieur. Nous avons donc dû attendre pour une place sur la terrasse une vingtaine de minutes. Je vous conseille donc de réserver par téléphone !
