Review Summary

Le Caravane Café is described as a cozy, welcoming spot with plenty of seating that makes it ideal for studying, working, or meeting friends, and the vibe is generally positive with a youthful energy and nice decor. The coffee gets frequent praise for being strong and enjoyable, and the food and pastries are often marked as fresh and flavorful, with the Moroccan harira and eggs Benedict among highlights, though some dishes arrive cold or bland and a few reviews note variability in pastry freshness. Service is cited as outstanding and attentive at times, while other visits are slower or less consistent, and a few complaints mention crowded spaces or loud areas as well as price concerns. The location is convenient and the atmosphere conducive to long stays, with some reviewers enjoying the option to linger over a book or laptop and others noting occasional issues such as outdoor smoke or crowds near the entrance. Overall, Le Caravane Café emerges as a popular local favorite for quality coffee, comforting eats, and a pleasant study or social environment, balanced by inconsistent food timing and service that occasionally challenges the experience.

While the overall vibe of Caravan Café in Montreal isn't bad - it feels like stepping into a 1960s newspaper office - the experience was disappointing. The apple pie was completely frozen inside, basically inedible, & cost $10. The cappuccino was oddly served in a faceted glass, something I've never seen before, while the latte looked normal. The total came to $27 including parking, which feels quite expensive for this kind of outing

What a find! I recently stopped by Caravane Café at 3506 Av. Lacombe, Montréal, QC H3T 1M1, & this place is just awesome! ✨

The atmosphere has such a great vibe. The interior is cool & interesting with cozy spots to sit, & the whole place is so clean & organized. You can tell it's a real local favorite because it's always buzzing with people, no matter the season. It's a great spot to catch up with a friend or just find a quiet corner.

The coffee is honestly the best. It's awesome & strong ☕?, perfect for giving you a morning boost. The pastries are just as good-they're so fresh & incredible, & they go perfectly with the coffee. The whole place smells amazing from all the baked goods!

I have to give a shout-out to the ladies working there. They are all so nice, friendly, & beautiful! 😊 They make you feel welcome the second you walk in, & the service is always quick & with a smile.

Overall, it's a wonderful spot that I highly recommend. It's a real gem that's perfect for a quick coffee run or a long, relaxing break with a great atmosphere & amazing service. You really can't go wrong here.

The best coffee shop in Côte-des-neiges, the vibes are great, decor is nice, coffe is top notch. Does tend to get crowded from time to time. Stopped for coffee & study sessions plenty of times but only ate there once, food is good & relatively affordable. Would recommend!

I love the decorations & vibe. Prices are on the higher end. Usually very crowded so lots of noise coming from everywhere. Not sure I can fully focus.

I recently visited the Caravane Café &, overall, my experience was fine, though not particularly remarkable. The café has a cozy, laid-back atmosphere that instantly makes you feel comfortable as soon as you step inside. It's tucked in a corner of the neighborhood, with a modest yet charming décor-think wooden tables, soft lighting, & a few plants scattered around, which give it a homey, welcoming vibe. There's plenty of natural light, making it a pleasant spot to hang out, read, or do some work. It's the kind of place you could easily lose track of time in. The service was friendly, which I always appreciate, but it was a bit slower than I anticipated. The staff seemed a little distracted, & it took quite a while for my order to be ready, even though the café wasn't particularly busy at the time. There were a few other customers around, but nothing that should have caused the delay. It wasn't a huge issue, but if you're in a rush, it might be something to consider. That said, when my order did arrive, the staff was kind & apologetic about the wait, which helped soften the experience. For my order, I went with a cappuccino & a croissant, two staples I like to judge a café by. The cappuccino was decent, though not quite up to par with what I was hoping for. The coffee itself was smooth & well-prepared, but it lacked the depth & richness I expect from a good cappuccino. The flavor was on the milder side-more milk-forward than the bold espresso taste I enjoy. It was definitely drinkable, just a little underwhelming, especially since I was hoping for something with a bit more punch. As for the croissant, it was fresh but not exceptional. It had a nice, golden exterior, though the texture inside was a bit denser than I'd prefer. A little more flakiness & a bit more butter would have made a big difference in elevating the pastry. Still, it wasn't bad-it was just not the standout treat I was hoping for. I'd also noticed a variety of other pastries on display, so I'm curious to try something different next time, but I can't say the croissant wowed me. The vibe of the place is definitely one of its strong points, & it's clear that the café is designed with comfort in mind. The seating is varied-there are a few tables for two, larger ones for groups, & even a small counter area near the window, ideal for solo visitors who want to watch the world go by. The music playing in the background was unobtrusive, & the overall noise level was low enough to make it a perfect environment for reading, chatting, or getting some work done. There's also a small selection of books & magazines available, which adds to the chill, low-key atmosphere. I did notice that there's a small selection of specialty drinks & snacks that could be worth checking out. I didn't try them on this visit, but the menu looked interesting. There's also a decent variety of teas & a few vegan options, which could be appealing for people with dietary restrictions. While my visit was generally pleasant, there's a feeling that Caravane Café is still finding its groove. It's definitely a café I'd visit again if I'm in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. It's a comfortable, easy-going spot, but it doesn't quite have that "wow" factor that would make it stand out in a city full of great coffee shops. If you're just looking for a quiet place to relax or need a break from the hustle & bustle, this could be a good spot. But if you're a serious coffee lover or have high expectations for your pastries, you might leave feeling like there are better options elsewhere.

Staff is very nice & friendly. They have a kind & very welcoming vibe. The food is sadly disappointing & quite pricey. I pad $47 for two sandwiches & two drinks (including tax & tip). At my local cafe, I usually pay $30 for the same. I thought the sandwich would come with a small side at that price, but it does not. Coffee is good. If I come back it would probably be just for the coffee but definitely not the food.

Délicieux oeufs bénédictines ! La sélection de cafés froids & chauds est ample. Bon service. Parfait "vibe" Montréalais !

it's cute but theres kind of a weird vibe. Very loud, a bit unwelcoming, kind of expensive for a student café. Check it out for yourself but I'm definitely not going back!
