Since it opened in 1931, the Centre Eaton de Montréal’s iconic 9th floor restaurant has been known by Montrealers as “le neuvième”.
With La Grande Salle’s high ceiling and elegant architectural lines, Le 9e was among the first Art Deco interiors in the Province of Quebec, and is classified as a historic monument by the Ministry of Culture.
Lying dormant for twenty four years, Le 9e’s reopening in 2024 honours the past and embraces the future.
Le 9e - Restaurant Île de France delivers a memorable candlelight experience with superb musicians, a warm and refined ambiance, and an elegant art deco setting that enhances the acoustics; the staff is described as attentive and helpful, and the venue is touted as versatile for romantic dinners, group dining, brunches, and even corporate events, with many praising the food and shared plates, while a few visits note occasional delays, uneven pacing, and occasional menu hiccups, but overall the experience remains highly recommended and consistently impressive.
It was my 1st Candlelight event & definitely not my last I enjoyed it more than I anticipated I would. Very talented artists & the venue was spectacular oh & the staff were amazing.
The ambiance is quite nice.
The performance was worth the value paid for.
The organizer is'fever' which is an English word.
The Title of the show was: Candlelight Jazz: The Best of Frank Sinatra & Nat King Cole'
The songs performed were obviously all in English.
Seeing that most of the wordings were in english, I find it rather odd that the intro & the singer only spoke French throughout the entire showtime.
Though I do understand French, I definitely think it should have been bilingual, at the least.

We had a brunch for our Board(CLub Bolo) at the 9eme & everything was excellent. Great service before, during & after the event. The food was excellent & we sat at a round table which allowed for greater conversation. All & all a great event at a great restaurant. Highly recommend it whether it be a one-on-one dinner or a group event.
What a find. This was a fabulous spot. Perfect for any type of function: business, pleasure. We loved the art-deco decor, & using the original Eaton's elevators to reach the 9th floor.
Bartender was friendly, & the views were great.
Although we didn't eat, we've heard from the person who recommended that it's quite good.
Great venue for a fabulous evening with a large group of friends that started in French Line & finished late in the main Ile de France room! Dan Notkin also delivers the best seafood towers in the city!
We attended for brunch. We had eggs benedict & an omelette, both of which were just ok. The plate was filled out with too many home fries. The setting is traditional & higher end furnishings. The service was at one point too attentive.
Super spectacle...certains pièces musicales sont touchantes par leur melodicité ainsi que par la magnifique interprétation de musiciens expérimentés & talentueux...c'est à revoir !
