Feedback on L'Arepa Express highlights authentic Colombian and Venezuelan flavors, with arepas, empanadas, bowls and chicharrón described as delicious and comforting, and service praised as friendly and attentive, making many diners feel welcome and transported to Latin American street food scenes. Several reviews praise a paisa bowl close to Medellín, fresh arepas, and a passion fruit juice that many find refreshing. Overall, the atmosphere and hospitality receive high marks, and portions are noted as generous with good value. There are occasional negatives, including a dish that did not turn out as expected with beans tasting canned and meat that was not shredded, a report of incomplete orders with missing items, and a critique of a summer street food truck edition poutine that arrived cold and disappointing. In general, most reviews emphasize authenticity and homestyle taste, but a few highlight variability in quality and consistency. Taken together, L'Arepa Express seems worth trying for its vibrant flavors and friendly service, with the potential to shine even more when consistency improves.

Nous sommes arrêtées vite fait & nous n'avons pas attendu trop longtemps. Ma fille adore les empanadas & elle est peeky mais là.... The best of the best! Goûteux, croustillant mais pas trop, pâte à l'intérieur moelleuse, assez viande & la sauce, trop bonne! On y retournera quand nous serons de passage, ça vaut le détour!
I'm sorry to write this, as the main restaurant has long been one of my favorites-even my choice for birthdays. A friend of mine had recently mentioned that their quality had declined, but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Having been there many times, I've always wanted to try the criollo bowl, which is similar to the'pabellón.' Today I finally ordered it, & what a disappointment. The beans tasted like canned beans instead of the regular black beans served at the main restaurant, & it didn't come with a lot of beans or cheese on top like in the restaurant. About 80% of the dish was just rice, & about half of the supposed highlight-the shredded beef-came as a large lump that wasn't even shredded. It seemed more like a greasy piece of beef skin than proper meat. I don't like returning food, so I ate what I could & threw away the rest (including the lump of beef). I truly hope the quality improves, because I've always enjoyed the main restaurant in the past.
