La Toxica offre une ambiance festive et chaleureuse et une carte de tacos et birria qui reviennent souvent comme des coups de cœur, accompagnée de cocktails généreux et d'un service rapide et attentif. Les plats sont globalement savoureux et l'atmosphère est vivante, avec une musique latino et des soirées qui donnent envie de danser; les portions généreuses et la décoration colorée renforcent le plaisir de la soirée. Quelques avis évoquent des fluctuations de portions ou un service parfois lent, mais l'accueil reste sympathique et les prix restent raisonnables pour la qualité globale. C'est un endroit idéal pour passer un bon moment entre amis ou en famille et pour revenir tester d'autres tacos comme le birria ou l'al pastor.
We were hungry & another nearby taco place was packed. La Toxica quickly sat us, & the vibe seemed good. We ordered birria tacos, chicken tacos e birria ramen. The food came out at the same time as our drinks…very quickly. The beef birria was catastrophically bland. Like unseasoned. Luckily the consommé had a bit of flavor, but these were not good. The birria ramen was okay - basically ramen noodles in consommé with some of the same flavorless beef. Not hugely impressed but it seems like they do good birthday business (there were 6-7 birthday sparklers over the 45 minutes we were there).
The food was absolutely delicious. The birria tacos are a must. The Paloma is divine. But it was not busy & the service was so slow & we had to flag the waitress down every single time. Kinda a bummer because the vibe was fun & food & drinks were great. I might give this place a second chance.
The tacos & drinks were delicious & authentic. Restaurant venue was also very nice. We had a very friendly server. The restaurant is located in Chinatown so it's a good spot to stop in & eat.
I was expecting more from the restaurant advertising the'best tacos in Montreal'. Surprisingly, their menu doesn't have nachos. Their tacos are average, the cocktails with fresh passion fruit are nothing special & the service was pretty slow at times (10 minutes for a drink order). They forgot my wife's tacos altogether. We won't be trying this chain again.
The Birria tacos with their consomé are incredible!! Server Betsabe was extremely kind & she helped us choose great drinks & food. New favourite, highly recommended. Gracias!
The second location to the popular Villeray restaurant. It's still fairly under the radar so no problem to get a table which is great on their $25 all you can eat tacos on Tuesdays & Wednesdays. You have a choice of 5 different tacos for the AYCE menu ( carnitas, steak, pastor, chorizo, & veggie). My favourites were the steak, carnitas, & pastor. You get two sauces on the side & every taco is garnished with onions & coriander with a lime wedge for each taco you order. They are so good & bite sized, my friends & I had 13-15 tacos each & we were so full by the end but so content. For all you can eat it is a great deal. The service is also very fast which is good because they keep the tacos coming. I've also been during non AYCE days & have tried the burrito (huge & flavourful & filling), & the chips & guac (good!), & the steak quesadilla (one of my favourites! so gooey & cheesy). I recommend also getting the hojicha drink! It's milky & refreshing. You can't go wrong with this place. Everything on the menu is good & staff is really friendly. The space is also very big & there's a good variety of tables & booths. Has lots of decorations on the walls & theme music playing.

It's a lively ambiance with live music at night on some days. Their drinks are better than the food (the food is very standard). It's a good place to go with friends for a drink after work.
Visited this place on Saturday evening with 4 other people. The food was great, it came fast & had all the flavour we could ask for, the drinks were great too. What made me give this place 3 stars was the server's attitudes & slow service. Not only did we have to wait for 30-40 minutes for our bills without being able to leave, we have asked for it multiple times & one of the times the server felt comfortable enough to curse about it & complain right when she was next to our table while rolling her eyes (was done in Spanish, my friend translated what has happened to us). I can understand Saturday night being busy, but having one machine working for payment for the entire space should not be the norm, & neither should be that kind of service. It left a bad impression & all of us were left upset, despite the delicious food. I wish our experience was different, & I hope the restaurant can address those issues so other people won't have to deal with it like us. Overall, great food & poor service.
