Our experience at Gargamelle was magical! We were welcomed by the co owners Loyd & Manu, who both offered exceptional service throughout the evening. The ambiance was cozy & the food was insanely delicious. We definitely recommend the 6 serving option with cocktail pairing - it's such a unique experience! Quick tip - bring an extra sweater, it tends to get a bit cold during the winter (but the rustic stone walls & old-age windows make it all worth it)!
Our experience at La Gargamelle was the best I've had in a long time! My partner & I drove out to Montreal for an early birthday celebration & decided to try out the five course tasting menu. The quality of the food, paired with the delicious cocktails was above & beyond. The care that Manu & Lloyd put into the customer service & food preparation made us feel as if we were family. Mikael even brought out the Tuna Heart (a delicious & surprising addition to the devilled egg course) for us to see. If you are looking for a unique & delectable dining experience, I highly recommend La Gargamelle.

This place is beyond words! Chef Loyd & Manu serve a 5 stars experience with the utmost charm & simplicity in a special environment where the laidback & cool atmosphere is very palpable. The food here is unbelievable, superb, delicious & the list of compliments goes on. 5 stars on service, attention, sophisticated menu & their welcoming attitude towards customers. I'm not a seafood person & Manu along with Chef Loyd were more than accommodating. Can't stress enough how excellent they both were. Chef Loyd talked to us while he cooked, danced, explained the dishes to us & sat a bit on the table to talk to everyone. Manu was beyond charming when presenting the dishes & drinks. I didn't have my meals with drinks, but tried a few from one of my friends & ended up ordering one for myself. I strongly recommend you to try the grappa if you have the chance. It has a touch of basil & herb butter, absolutely fantastic. Bottom line: try this restaurant, the food is amazing & service is outstanding! Kudos to both of them!
Our visit to La Gargamelle for the 5-course menu was truly a treat! The food was excellent, & the ambiance was warm & homey, making it a perfect setting for a cozy meal. Our waitress was super nice, & the personal touch of the chef coming out to say hi added to the overall wonderful experience. Highly recommended! ----- Notre visite chez La Gargamelle pour le menu en 5 services a été un vrai régal! La nourriture était excellente, & l'ambiance chaleureuse & conviviale, créant un cadre parfait pour un repas agréable. Notre serveuse était très sympathique, & le fait que le chef soit venu nous saluer a ajouté une touche personnelle à cette expérience formidable. Je recommande vivement!
Overall the restaurant was fairly good. However, I won't recommend the 3 Courses tasting menu that was promoted on the social media. We didn't know what was included in the tasting menu, so we had a high expectation for it. We started with the soup which was pretty blend. The garlic leaves took over the flavor of soup. The oyster was good. Love the Yuzu mousse & the chili on top. This one is a great combination. However, one of our oyster was bad. The main course was a chow mein with peanut butter sauce & chili oil. This is a very common house dish in my culture so it was a little bit disappointing to have it as the main. I would say the chili oil was quite authentic. The egg yolk added extra creaminess to the sauce. The final dish was three arancini balls. The flavor was fine with some braised beef cheeks in it. This tasting menu was quite confusing. Per website, the order should be an amuse-bouche, starter & main. Based on the order of the food brought to us, I wasn't sure if the chow-mein or the arancini is the main. I would prefer that they remove one of two dish & include a dessert to it. Also maybe include a big more protein & vegetables as the meal is probably 80% carbs. The cocktails are around $20 per drinks. The atmosphere was nice with the music & the decor. The owner/ chef is very enthusiastic & has nice personalities. The waitress is also very sweet. Overall, I won't recommend the tasting menu we had. Maybe it would be nicer to order a la carte. If you love the open to talk atmosphere & have some drinks. I will recommend this restaurant.
Was already a patron of the cocktail bar Tittle Tattl before they opened this cool concept of "speak easy restaurant" some of the most creative & delicious food. If you want a Michelin experience without the price & with all the love & attention to detail I highly recommend going there. Honestly a little hidden gem in the old port. Would recommend to anyone
Our experience at the restaurant was truly unforgettable. From the start, the service was great. The server was very kind & made sure to go through the menu with us. Not only was the food delicious, but each course was a visual delight. The courses were thoughtfully balanced in flavors, I would recommend this new & upcoming restaurant. Giving Michelin Star vibes
Un petit restaurant caché au fond d'un bar comme un trésor qu'on souhaite préserver. Une cuisine exceptionnelle, savoureuse, & qui est sublimée par des accords de cocktails concoctés par le chef qui est également un mixologue réputé. Une expérience culinaire unique, un service impeccable & chaleureux, & un lieu apaisant. Vivement recommandé !
My favourite resturant in Montreal! The food was impeccable & the staff were so accommodating & knowledgeable. Genuinely I have never had anything as heavenly as their Ravioles du Dauphine. The drinks that were paired with each course was divine, the cocktails were some of the best in the city. I highly recommend any foodie go eat here, the experience is like no other!

ce restaurant m'a ouvert les yeux sur l'avenir de la restauration. en tant que critique mondiallement reconnu, je recommande ce restaurant sans hesiter. si je vendais des pneus, je donnerais une etoile michelin.
So charming! Going to La Gargamelle, I kinda felt like in my family's kitchen, maybe one of my cousins would happen to be a mixologist & had been playing with the bar cabinet! Yet, it's absolutely delicious! I highly recommend the Bread & Gochujang Butter, the Crudo is milky & delicious; watch out for the heat! The Scallops are fresh & vibrant, the Miso Black Cod is beautifully balanced & the Orgetto is totally a new discovery. What an amazing evening, can't wait to go again!
