As regular guests at La Cantina, we always appreciate the friendly staff & relaxed ambiance. The food is consistently good although the quesadilla dish is a bit meager - a small quesadilla with no sides, so you must order salsa or beans, etc. It would be amazing is they would add fried veggie tacos to the menu. Our server, Gigi, was absolutely fantastic. This is a solid neighborhood restaurant.

Visited a few times & will definitely be going back to ensure I try everything on the menu! Tacos are very spot on. Duck carnitas + steak de Arrachera is a must!
Sehr freundliche Personal. Trotz unseres späten Erscheinens und der mangelnden französisch Kenntnisse waren sie sehr hilfsbereit und geduldig.
Dazu noch leckeres Essen und leckere Cocktails die den Abend abgerundet haben.
Restaurant mexicain très réglo qui rencontre les attentes pour une bonne nourriture qui se rapproche du typique.

It was okay.
I understand the effort into bring true ingredients to the table. With a tortilla that isn't.
For the pastor tacos I could name them differently so I couldn't get disappointed.

I tried the mushrooms quesadillas. For the price I expected a bit more food. The plate seemed very empty & it just tested like grilled cheese with beans. I paid 21$ for this plate with tax & tip. I'd add at least some salad or tortilla chips. There are almost no sauce too.
I ordered the chicken tinga bowl . It is a good size but seriously underseasoned . So bland , im so disappointed i feel like i wasted my money. I ended up getting something else for lunch , that is how much flavour was lacking.
The food & the service were excellent. I recommend it. The place feels genuinely Mexican with the right amount of sophistication. I eat Mexican everywhere I am, including Mexico & LA. This feels like home.

EXPERIENCIA LATINA EN CANADÁ!
Entramos porque nos pareció curioso mientras caminábamos por el viejo Puerto en Montreal.
El ambiente es animado con música latina y muy particular. Las personas que atienden son animadas.
No comimos, solo las palomitas que dan de cortesía.
Los precios no son de cantina 😂 es bueno tomarlo en cuenta pero vale la pena la experiencia. Tienen mesas en la terreza.
Es una experiencia interesante. Lo recomiendo. Además me gustan las fotos de la decoración las cuales muestran conciencia social y cultura.
Regarding the food, it was rather disappointing. The shrimp tacos tasted quite bland & one-dimensional; the sauce was the dominant flavor, yet it wasn't even particularly robust. I could also faintly detect a frozen, refrigerator-like taste from the shrimp. As for another appetizer, despite being deep-fried, it was somehow served cold & had an unpleasant fishy odor… How does that even happen? If I hadn't had the chance to enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine elsewhere, I might have mistakenly believed that this is what Mexican food is supposed to taste like…
