La Cantina garners mostly positive notes for its flavorful Mexican fare and well crafted cocktails, with many reviewers praising meatier options like beef fillet, arrachera and brisket tacos, as well as ceviche and chicharron, and margaritas described as excellent; the ambiance is frequently described as nice and the staff friendly and attentive, especially during slower visits. However, several opinions mention small portions and occasional bland or underseasoned dishes such as some tacos or bowls, and prices that feel high for the size. Service quality is described as variable, with times of slow service, billing mistakes or miscommunication about promotions, and occasional delays during busy periods. Some reviewers note gluten free friendliness and a generally authentic vibe, while others feel the kitchen could improve consistency and focus on fresh flavors. Overall, La Cantina offers a solid, authentic Mexican dining experience with strong drinks and many tasty dishes, but results vary and improving portion size, consistency, and value would enhance the overall impression.
A nice little mexican restaurant, with guacamole to die for! I had the fried tacos with brisket, & it was very delicious. I definitely recommend the place!
Nice atmosphere out the front, less vibrant at the back of the restaurant. We ordered the fish tacos & shrimp tacos. The shrimp was nicely cooked but the fish was overcooked. Quite bland tacos at baseline but elevated significantly with the lime & the selection of hot sauces. Overall it was a decent dinner but not the best Mexican to be honest
Amazing food. Amazing customer service. Great music. I think the prices are perfect but I’m also from NYC where everything is far more expensive so take that with a grain of salt.
The most unbelievable experience, where not knowing about this place, & just being blown away by the food.
The most homemade cooking in a restaurant & such a wholesome menu.
Ria our server was very special, greated us with such a beautiful smile & very accommodating attitude.
Very underwhelming experience. The decor is what you’d expect out of any mexican restaurant & the service was okay. The food was good, but probably not worth the price for the quantity. Also, avoid ordering the grasshoppers at all costs, their seasoning & texture is awful. Basically, would not return & I’d say that there are so many restaurants around that are worth exploring before this.
