The food is amazing! This was our first visit to the restaurant & we were a group of 12 people. Everyone enjoyed their food. Complement to the Chefs. We will go back for sure.

MEILLEUR resto Italien apportez son vin à Montréal. apportez votre meilleure bouteille car tout est simplement délicieux ( calmars, poissons, pâtes, scaloppini, steak etc.. ). Je connais ce resto depuis plus de vingt ans & c'est toujours un réel plaisir à chaque fois. Top service. & que dire des hôtes ( Joe, Dino & Maria qui veillent à ce que tous sois parfait. Merci pour tout ce qu'est La Campagnola.

My go to spot for tasty food, great service & a real authentic feel. Try the lamb it's fantastic, & the salads & appetizers are terrific!

Being a byob & a steak house this place should be on the top of your list if you like either!

Food & service were great, never usually have any complaints about that. I do have a complaint though about the valet service, which is new since the last time I was there. My parents used the valet service, & when they recuperated the car at the end of the evening, found that the radio had been played with as well as the GPS settings. They do not live in the city, & only realized as they were driving that the settings have been changed in the GPS which did cause some problems as they were making their way home. They were not very happy about this.

Overall an *above average to good* dining experience.
• The ambiance was excellent, nice décor, mood lighting etc.

• The food had unique flavouring, however all the dishes were a little heavy on the salt.
The lamb: was excellent (—better than Gibby's in Old Montreal)! [caution: salt]
The rappini: Nice firm cook, great use of garlic [caution: salt]
The tortellini Gigi: delicious sauce with bits of prosciutto [caution: salt]
Shrimp appetizer: Good garlic/better dressing, but the shrimp were stiff, possibly frozen.
Calamari: Tender, not rubbery, 2 choices of dipping sauce (tartare & cocktail), but only had rings, no tentacles which made me wonder if the supply was pre-frozen as well.
The complementary sausage was out of this world! Nicely done!

• The service was friendly & attentive
The one drawback with the service is that too many people were asking if everything was OK. Perhaps that role should be limited to the waiter & the house manager, but we had bus-boys & waiters of other tables asking us, which was starting to annoy me. In a span of a few minute I answers 3-4 times.
Positive: No request was an issue. I asked for new napkins & utensils for myself & the entire table was changed! Excellent!
Opportunity: Wine was left to us to pour. I don't think a waiter ever poured a single glass.

I give a rating of 3.5 stars or a 70% because the price was a little high for overly salty food. While the lamb was really fresh & cooked to perfection [caution: salt], the seafood & pasta did not taste like they were fresh. The prices don't reflect the food.

Excellent service! Le personnel est à l'écoute & que dire de la nourriture ... tout simplement délicieuse! Je sortais avec mes fils pour une occasion spéciale & c'était ma deuxième visite à la Campagnola. Nous avons déjà hâte d'y retourner!!
