Today, the coffee shop is full with a lack of staff. The staff is working nonstop because there are so many people. The turnover is sad because the staff is very good. I hope they can keep people working at the place.
Other than the chairs that have picked out of the garbage & not updated so you can actually sit comfortably on them, this place is adorable & has a good food & drink selection. Will return!

Je dois dire que j'adore l'endroit & y vais depuis l'ouverture pendant un temps j'y allais plusieurs fois par semaine, c'était mon endroit préféré (vous savez quand vous rentrez & que le serveur sait déjà votre commande) & j'ai introduit pleins de gens, eu des dates, certains amis qui s'y sont même mariés.. MAIS malheureusement leur nouveaux changements font en sorte que je devrai trouver un autre lieu. 🙁
Voyez-vous, avec une amie tout particulièrement cet endroit était notre lieu de rencontre spécial pour prendre un verre/cafe, manger quelque chose en faisant nos paperasses, dessiner, étudier ou lire. Je dessine sur une tablette. Donc je ne peux plus le faire en bas puisqu'elles ne sont pas tolérés. Mais le haut le loft je dois payer pour. Même si je ne travaille pas, n'utilise pas le wifi ou rien. De plus comme le loft ferme plus tôt même s'il y a encore de la place en bas ma tablette n'est pas autorisée une fois le loft fermé
Je comprend l'idée que vous ne voulez pas que les gens se serve des lieux comme d'un bureau sans payer le pass & si j'ai à y travailler il me ferait plaisir de payer
Mais vous tassez aussi des clients fidèles depuis des années qui aimaient l'endroit pour le côté éclectique & inspirant..
C'est avec tristesse que je cherche un nouveau lieu.. des suggestions?
I usually like the Petit Dep for its cozy setting, but I've been appalled by the bad attitude of the baristas at this establishment. It's come to a point where I hesitate on coming back at every encounter.
There have been multiple occasions where:
- you can hear them openly talk rudely about customers in front of other customers
- the coffee is always so aggressively served that a portion of coffee even falls out of the cup
- they seem constantly irritated at you about everything & anything (yes, even when you're just ordering coffee)
The location is very nice, the food & coffee is just ok, but it's the poor customer service that really pulls away from the overall experience. NO ONE enjoys paying 7$ for coffee only to be treated with such disgrace.
Very disappointing for a place with such potential - please do better & respect your customers!
Heureuse d'avoir connu un endroit aussi'cosy' & sympathique, le décor est chaleureux comme chez ma grand-maman. De plus, nous sommes accueillis par un personnel est excessivement gentil (surtout le charmant jeune homme qui s'appelle Jérôme). Je vous recommande fortement Le Petit Dep.
I used to love coming here. The ambiance is perfect & the coffee is really great. The staff have always been super sweet & the layout of the second floor is optimal for working & studying.
However, when I went today with a friend, we were informed that if we wanted to stay here to work, we had to pay a fee. Somewhere between 5-7$ depending on how long we stayed. We immediately left. Usually, when I come here, I stay several hours with a friend & we both end up spending 20$ each on coffee & snacks. In an attempt to gain some extra cash, they ended up losing out on funds. I find it so insulting that in a society that continues to commodify simply sitting & existing, this once perfect cafe has decided to spit in the face of their clients & student population in the surrounding area by demanding that they pay a fee to work or study on one of their chairs.
I will not be back here, not until they remove this extra fee. & clearly I'm not the only one. While it has historically been difficult to find a spot to sit at, especially on a Saturday afternoon right around midterms season, the second floor was completely empty. Sad & disappointed.
The space is beautiful, but you have to pay $5-$7 to stay & work, which is disappointing & feels greedy, to say the least. I would save my hard-earned money for a cafe that doesn't place profit above customer experience.
Wow. L'imposteur cocktail should win awards. A perfect blend of matcha & pistachio flavours, with gorgeous presentation. A little powdery at the end though. The Purple Sour deserves a more creative name because it was a nice well balanced cocktail.
Pretty decor, efficient service. I love the little free-use water tap but I think it needs better signage.
My friend took advantage of the 5 à 7 drink deals & had a couple of negronis that she enjoyed at a good price.
Came here with work friends for a bite to eat & a drink… disappointed with the food to say the least. The pizzas were bad, not to mention there was a hair on a slice?!… the charcuterie board was really bland & the drinks were just satisfactory.
The only good part is the ambiance, the atmosphere is very unique & quite enjoyable, along with a pinball machine near the bathrooms.
I would only come back to play pinball.. that's it.
They don't allow iPads for reading downstairs anymore - I was told after they took my order. Not a good place to have a coffee & relax & read on a weekend - recommend going elsewhere
I visit this Cafe regularly & always amazed how fresh their pastries are; however, they have been constantly sizing down their drinks in the past 2 years
