La Buvette du Dep offers a cozy, stylish space with industrial loft vibes and lots of plants, inviting guests to relax, study, or meet friends. The coffee, pastries and brunch options are frequently praised for quality and flavor, with lattes, mochas and fresh baked treats winning regular compliments. The staff are described as friendly and attentive, and the variety of seating upstairs and downstairs makes it easy to choose a quiet spot or a livelier vibe. While a few reviews note higher prices and occasional service bottlenecks on busy days, the overall atmosphere and design keep visitors returning for the distinctive energy. This spot stands out as a great place to enjoy a drink, a bite, or a long study session.
I usually like the Petit Dep for its cozy setting, but I've been appalled by the bad attitude of the baristas at this establishment. It's come to a point where I hesitate on coming back at every encounter.
There have been multiple occasions where:
- you can hear them openly talk rudely about customers in front of other customers
- the coffee is always so aggressively served that a portion of coffee even falls out of the cup
- they seem constantly irritated at you about everything & anything (yes, even when you're just ordering coffee)
The location is very nice, the food & coffee is just ok, but it's the poor customer service that really pulls away from the overall experience. NO ONE enjoys paying 7$ for coffee only to be treated with such disgrace.
Very disappointing for a place with such potential - please do better & respect your customers!

Ça manquait, ce genre de café qui, par son caractère cozy & sa musique (r&b quand j'y étais), qui nous permettent de plonger dans une oasis, à l'abri de tout ce bruit perpétuel relié à la construction autour… &, petit détail, mais tout de même: le sandwich & le café étaient délicieux! Un aspect à améliorer: le service pourrait être plus chaleureux, mais ce que j'aime de moins en moins c'est qu'on m'oblige à payer le tout, y compris le service, AVANT de recevoir la nourriture. Ça c'est un peu une forme d'extorsion commerciale, malheureusement de plus en plus fréquente. Je comprendrais si je commandais seulement un café, mais avec une buvette, on s'en va en gang boire & manger tout un repas… cette formule ne fonctionne pas pour moi. J'enlève une étoile pour ces raisons.

Best coffee spot in Montreal so far. I got a latte & some treats on the side: Nutella sablé, almond & chocolate croissant, chocolate chip cookie, & a cinnamon roll with raisins. Everything was delicious, & the vibe was awesome-super cozy with tons of plants. Loved it!
This is a fantastic coffee shop! The furniture is stylish & comfortable, creating a cozy atmosphere. The coffee & desserts are delicious - we tried the Nutella sable, chocolate cookie, latte, cappuccino, & matcha latte, all of which were excellent. The space is spacious & filled with green plants, adding a refreshing vibe. They also offer private rooms for reservations, including conference & workspaces, making it perfect for meetings or getting some work done.
Very spacious & comfortable cozy environment. Very good selection for baked goods. Seating area was nice & spread out, also has multiple levels to use. Our barista (from Toronto) was fantastic & friendly. Created a very nice vibe & enjoyable experience.
This place is quite busy but an amazing cafe to be at, make you feel cozy & homely, food was so fresh & great quality for price, an amazing vibe, friendly staff, great ambience

Le Petit Dep is a cozy little gem tucked away in the Old Port of Montreal. It's a mix of café & boutique, offering great coffee, artisan snacks, & a charming atmosphere. The place feels warm & inviting with its rustic wooden decor & vintage touches, making it a perfect spot to take a break while wandering around the historic area.
Coup de coeur à Montréal... ca vaut le détour... il faut simplement marcher un peu pour découvrir ce milieu éclectique rétro, mid century, cozy. Café, boisson gazeuse, bière, soupe, excellent sandwichs, biscuits, muffins... wow
(French follows) super aesthetic cafe with some organic & locally made grocery items. Coffee was delicious & the vibes were super cozy. Good place to work & chill. Service was quick & the barista was helpful! café super esthétique avec des produits d'épicerie bio & fabriqués localement. Le café était délicieux & l'ambiance était super confortable. Bon endroit pour travailler & se détendre. le service était également rapide & le barista était serviable

Food & drinks: are fine Armosphere: is perfect! It is a hit! & there are separated working & non-working areas. I worked there in the morning the atmosphere is perfect for working & in the night it is a cozy place for gatherings with your friends.
A great coffee spot in Griffontown. With few coffee joint options, I'm really happy that Le Petit Dep is around. Great drinks, friendly staff, with a cozy, quirky decor, this is my go-to place for meeting up with friends to catch up.
Good place to study + love that it opens late. I was suprised by how busy it was on a tuesday. Overall its a pretty & cozy cafe. The drinks are just regular drinks that you could get at any other café. Not bad not good, just alright.
