Review Summary

La Bête À Pain offers a variety of experiences where customers frequently praise the quality of the breads and pastries, particularly highlighting the delicious baguettes, tarts, and cinnamon brioche. While some patrons express disappointment regarding the small portion sizes of the coffee and the excessive sweetness of certain croissants, the overall atmosphere and service are consistently described as welcoming and friendly. Although occasional frustration arises concerning limited kitchen operating hours, the neighborhood appreciates having such a high quality bakery available for both takeaway and dine-in options.

Nice café. There's a variation of fresh food. But they're lacking something every time I'm there. Once it was cream, then it was filtered coffee, etc. The spot is nice, we'll sunlit & cosy.

I've been a longtime client of this establishment on Fleury Street & came in this morning with high hopes.

I ordered a ham & cheese croissant & a café latte. After waiting several minutes, I asked where I should wait for my order, but no one seemed able to give me an answer. Several customers were served before me, despite having ordered after I did.

I understand that new businesses often have a few issues to work through, but the real problem here was the lack of customer service. The staff appeared disengaged & uninterested.

Most concerning, the employee who eventually prepared my order was using her cellphone moments before handling food. Seeing someone touch their phone & then prepare food is both unprofessional & unhygienic.

I hope these issues are addressed, as there is clearly room for improvement.

Nice bakery, although the service was very slow & the croissant/ham sandwich which l ordered had very little croissant to hold it together. ( Rather messy eating..)It was also overcooked..

Ok went today, & the cappuccino was tiny, the latte was tiny, & the hot chocolate my friend didn't like. The almond croissant was way too sweet as was the regular croissant. The lemon Meringue tart was delicious as was the Paris Brest. Maybe you get more coffee in a take away paper cup, but sincerely these cups are way too small to enjoy a decent coffee. The baguette is delicious as are the other breads.
