Hands down the best sushi I've had in MTL!
The sushi is incredible with great attention to detail & perfect balance in every bite. The quality of the fish is outstanding, extremely fresh, delicate & full of flavor. You can truly feel the authenticity & craftsmanship behind each piece.
Everything is done with balance & precision, letting the ingredients speak for themselves.

Good food, fast & courteous service, but it could improve. The taste is there & I must come back again to check the consistency. But nice surprise so far. Need to improve on the water filling though. Verdict : definitely give it a try. Came back again in April 2022 & still good. Came again in August 2023, still good. Tried again in January 2024. I think is going towards a 5**** soon. Came back again in March 2024 still great. Came back again in May 2024 & still the same quality. Again in June 2024 still good. Again in July 2024.February 2025. May 2025. Now, September 2025. I tried octopus salad & would NOT recommend - very chewy. It deserves 5 stars, just for the effort they put so will raise my 4 to 5. Keep up the good job. I can only say there is another sushi restaurant in Montreal as good as this one. Verdict : give it a try.
I've been coming to this restaurant since 2018, after deciding it was time to move on from AYCE sushi, & I've never looked back. To this day, it remains my favorite sushi spot. It's become the benchmark I use to compare any new sushi spots I try. The ingredients are fresh, the quality is consistently excellent, & I've left satisfied every time. Highly recommended.
I ordered takeout & am mesmerized with the quality of the sushi. Everything just feels right in the palate with the intertwine of flavours. I highly recommend to anyone who loves sushi!

hidden gem. been going there for decades. authentic sushi. very high quality ingredients down to the rice. Once you order from there, you won't like other sushi places. You have been warned.
We have been regulars to this great place for more than 7 years, yesterday was our recent visit, & contradictory to some negative comments, the freshness, quality & taste get better every time. Keep it going.
Kyoto has been our to go sushi place in the whole Montreal. The quality is the best we found among many & we do return regularly for take out. We love the salmon salad & Hokkaido, among many of our favourites
We have been coming here for years, but sadly watched the quality deteriorate over the pandemic & never recover. It's still fairly tasty but the presentation is an embarrassment to sushi chefs. We really hope they are able to improve, as we have lots of fond memories here & it was our top choice for years.

The food is very fresh, great quality ingredients, the place is so cozy, the staff very gentle. I really recommend it. Everything I ordered was excellent!!
Honestly, not sure why this place has high reviews. The sushi were quite basic, the sushi rice was overcooked. For the quality, this food was overpriced. Atmosphere & service were nice, but as a Japanese food enthusiast, this is not authentic & my meal was a disappointment.
Montreal is a great food city & this place is the cream of the crop. The quality is ALWAYS incredible, fresh & delicious. There are many more expensive sushi places in Montreal but none that are as good.
I've been coming to this sushi bar for years!! Finally decided to write a review once & or all. It is by far my favorite sushi restaurant & the quality is the closest I have encountered in Montreal to sushi I've had in Japan. The place small but nice & cozy. The waiter is incredibly polite & patient, the chef is passionate about his food. the fish is fresh & they DO NOT cheap out on ingredients. Presentation is simple but the tasty sushi is to die for.If I could, I would eat here everyday.
We go there about once every 2 weeks. Great quality sushi -packed full of high-quality ingredients assembled artistically. Plenty of taste from the fresh ingredients & seasoning, no need for any extra soya sauce. Compared to those all-you-can-eat sushi shops, it cost about the same to feel full at Kyoto, & the quality of the sushi is like night & day.
Service is a bit slow as a sit down restaurant (only 1 sushi chef), but it's WELL worth the wait! Takeout obviously solves the waiting problem with the same quality of food & presentation. Highly highly recommended!
