About us
At Kwizinn Vieux-Port, co-owners Michael Lafaille and Claudia Fiorelli bring a vibrant fusion of Caribbean flavours to the heart of Montreal's Old Port. Chef Mike Lafaille expertly blends traditional Caribbean spices with contemporary culinary techniques to create unique fusion dishes such as our octopus carpaccio, lobster poutine, plantain burger, and bao fall of di bone. The bold use of fresh herbs, rich marinades, and zesty sauces brings out the authentic and vibrant flavours that define Kwizinn Vieux-Port’s Caribbean fusion cuisine.
For a more immersive experience, Kwizinn Vieux-Montréal offers a range of special events throughout the week. Enjoy jazz nights every Thursday from 6 to 9 pm, while Fridays and Saturdays feature local DJs spinning beats late into the night. Every Friday to Sunday, indulge in a delightful brunch from 11:30 am to 3 pm, where you can savour dishes like our Fried Chicken Sandwich with coconut-marinated chicken, maple syrup, pikliz rosé, or the Tropical Wrap filled with sautéed vegetables and a choice of shredded griot or braised beef. The menu also features our creamy 3 Cheeses Mac n’ Cheese, the flavourful vegetarian dish Grilled Eggplant Obe Ata, and the savoury Chef Lafaille's Griot with fried plantains and pikliz. After brunch on Sunday, enjoy a lively Cuban night from 6 to 9 pm. We also have a private dining room perfect for groups and special occasions, and we regularly host thematic evenings, from Caribbean-inspired culinary nights to rum-tasting events.

Went there on a Sunday. Lucky the cuban duo was there. The atmosphere was festive. We ate a lot of things, flavors & textures were interesting & tasty. This is a place you come with friends & a date, even family if yours like to enjoy good music.View more

Kwizinn was a cool experience. I went with my partner as one of the experiences for Passport MTL & I was very happy with my choice.
We started off with fresh oysters that came with a tangy, citrus sauce. Then, we shared the pollo dish where the chicken was so tender & crispy at the same time. Everything was well seasoned, & it came together well.
The service was absolutely lovely. She was very kind & always made sure that we were okay. I appreciated that a lot. The atmosphere was great too, I bet it would be even more gorgeous in the evenings.
I personally don't think we came at the right time since there seem to be many events hosted throughout the week. However, it was a great experience nevertheless.View more

Bonne cuisine pour le cabrit du Québec mis à part le riz qui goûtait le riz en conserve. Les akra étaient bien fait. Présentation du plat correct sans plus.. Service très lent 1h & plus pour servir le repas & se trompent de commandes entre les clients sans porter attention ou s'excuser. 30 minutes pour préparer un dessert de beignets. Musique du DJ trop forte. Menu juste en anglais ne respecte pas les lois de la Province.Tout de même une expérience entre proches agréable & dégustation des Caraïbes dans le Vieux port.
Peu de restaurant offre cette ambiance à Montréal, c'est dommage qu'il n'offre pas un meilleur service à la clientèle. Je n'y retournerais malheureusement pas.View more

C'est une expérience. À ne pas confondre avec les restaurants haïtiens du quartier qui vous donneront un repas copieux cuisinés par des madames haïtiennes pour 20$. C'est une fusion de mets & il faut être prêt à dépenser.View more

Exquisite!! Booked back on Feb 1st for a surprise birthday dinner. We had the degustation meals which came with lots of options & truly each meal were fire 🔥🔥.
Everything we had hit the spot, the freshness, flavours to spiciness, to tenderness of the meat! The whole crew loved it & to please 8 different personalities & taste buds, I'm truly impressed & grateful for a superb experience.
I don't drink alcohol but the others did let me know they loved their drinks. My mocktail was on point.
The vibes were immaculate! Decor & music were amazing!

Vibe was good, they had a good DJ but the food was just ok.. no flare & pretty basic. They brought our order of rice to a diff table, it got sent back to the kitchen & when it was finally delivered to our table the rice was cold. Really fatty griot & the portions are small for the price.View more

DELICIOUS!!! Made a reservation here for a Sunday night which also had a live Cuban band, Havana Mambo, which was awesome. The staff was lovely, the venue is beautiful, the drinks were great, & the food was AMAZING! Their brunch also looks to be a good time, so would want to come back for that. I HIGHLY recommend for a great time, if you're looking for something fun, different, & delicious, this is the place to go!View more

My partner & I went here on a Saturday night after landing in Montreal. The service was great & the food was very tasty. The bao was really good! I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for great African/caribbean food. The cocktail choices were also great & they were very tasty. Très bonne cuisine ! Super restaurant. Haute qualité des produits. Cuisson parfaite du griot & du cabri ! Nous étions dimanche nous avons eu des musiciens cubains en live c'était top. Nous recommandons ce restaurant. Manger de la bonne nourriture des caraïbes par -15 degrés nous a bien réchauffé ! Le riz djondjon était excellent aussi ! Nous avions pris le menu dégustation ...
