I took my fiancé to dinner at Kwizinn to celebrate our anniversary last Saturday. We had arrived 15 minutes late due to traffic , & we apologized for missing our reservation, we were told it was no worries & were seated immediately with a smile. My fiancé & I started off by ordering an espresso martini & a Cucumber Mojito as well as appetizers pictured below, I had gotten the empanadas while she had gotten the oysters. Both appetizers were delicious, the empanadas were rich & fluffy, while the oysters were tangy with a smooth finish. The mains were the Pork chop (my dinner) & the Lobster Poutine (Fiancé's Dish). The Pork Chop was savoury & crunchy thanks to the garnish on top, meanwhile my fiancé stated that the lobster was fresh, & the seasoning on the poutine was full of flavour. We ended off our meal with tostadas paired with a Birds Eye sauce, as well as the chocolate cake. A perfect way to end off the night. Overall loved the experience at Kwizinn , most definitely a restaurant you need to visit whenever you are in town, will definitely be coming back.View more

Nous cherchions un beau restaurant qui sert de la nourriture caribéenne. Après avoir vu leur page Instagram nous avons choisi ce restaurant. L'ambiance & le décor est très bien, cependant la nourriture est de type fusion donc nous avons été déçu par le manque de goût & les plats que nous avons pris (griot sec, aucune sauce pour accompagner le plat; le poisson avait un goût acidulé déplaisant; la composition de la salade de crevettes très ordinaire : crevettes non assaisonnées & plus de poivrons qu'autre chose). Nous avions commandé un drink & demande d'avoir le jus séparé afin de pouvoir doser nous-mêmes le cocktail & nous avons été chargé pour l'alcool en plus du jus. Lorsque nous avons demandé à la serveuse pourquoi elle n'a pas pu nous répondre. Nous ne retournerons pas.View more
The service & hospitality at this place was amazing but the food was worth less than what they price it. The djon djon rice was ok, had a random curry taste I didn't appreciate much. The steak was hard to cut but it tasted good. The shots were delicious. The space is so cute & well decorated. Ambience here is everything.View more
Ma conjointe & moi y sommes allés tout récemment. À part l'air climatisé qui semblait un peu faible, surtout avec la météo très chaude, la nourriture & le service étaient impeccables. Arrivée au restaurant vers 21:30, nous nous asseyons à l'extérieur. Le serveur, très courtois, avise qu'il revient dans une minute. Après 10 minutes, nous rentrons à l'intérieur. Il s'excuse, menus à la main, il nous raccompagne. Toutefois, nous lui demandons de rester à l'intérieur. Il accepte. Une serveuse, très aimable & attentive, nous dirige à notre table. Rapidement nous passons notre commande. Malheureusement, vers 22:40, la serveuse perçoit que nous n'avions toujours pas reçu nos plats & se dirige à la cuisine. Après vérification, elle nous avise qu'il y a eu une erreur dans la cuisine, nos plats se préparent à l'instant. Elle s'excuse de cet incident & nomme qu'elle en parlera à la manager. Elle revient & informe que la manager nous offre 3 shooters. Nous les refusons! Nous avons été servi vers 23:00. Cette longue attente a coupé notre appétit. À notre grande surprise la nourriture était froide & pas du tout à notre goût (le riz djon djon n'était pas djon djon, ça goûtait clairement le cube de Maggi djon djon, très salé au goûter). Nous faisons part de notre insatisfaction à la serveuse. Elle retourne voir la manager, qui d'ailleurs, TOUT AU LONG de la situation est au bar avec des connaissances/ami.e.s en train de discuter & prendre des shoteurs sans avoir pris le temps de nous regarder une seule fois! La serveuse revient & mentionne que la manager soustrait 9$ de notre addition (coût total d'environ 130$). Nous demandons à lui parler. Elle refuse sous prétexte d'être « occupée ». Nous réglons la totalité de la facture. L'une de nous s'est dirigée vers elle pour lui parler, & lui fait part de son mépris à notre égard. Elle argumente & hausse le ton. Elle ajoute qu'elle n'est pas obligée de venir nous voir considérant qu'elle a fait un rabais & invite à quitter. Elle tente de se retenir lorsqu'elle voit qu'elle est filmée. Cette altercation aurait pu être évitée si la manager avait un zeste de professionnalisme!! D'ailleurs, on la voit prendre un shoteur durant l'échange filmé.View more
This was undoubtedly the best dining experience I've ever had. The food was exceptional, & despite being tapas, the portion sizes were generous. Each dish was incredibly flavorful, highlighting the rich diversity of Haitian & Caribbean cuisine. The staff was outstanding, providing excellent guidance on food & drink pairings. The evening was enhanced by live jazz music, & the pricing was reasonable given the location in Old Montréal. I plan to return whenever I visit Montreal-this restaurant is a must-try. Would recommend the: Pork Griot, Accra, Goat Dish & DjonDjon.View more
What a fantastic restaurant!! The server was very knowledgeable & attentive & the food was absolutely delicious. We ordered the Griot, which had tender pieces of delicious pork. The Accra was great, & the Quebec Goat was absolutely delicious with the Djondjon rice. I am legitimately sad I am only visiting but will be making this a regular visit every time I am in town.View more

GREASY FOOD We sat outside in the patio & they never brought forks or napkins, we had to ask for them. We ordered some plantain (as seen in photo) which was greasy & burnt, didnt taste good. The other entree we ordered were some yuca fries which the server brought wrong & 30 min later brought the correct plate. However the servers were really nice & welcoming, improving the experience. Still, we ate amd had no plates for the entrees & had to place our food in the napkins.View more
Amazing 10/10 on everything. Kwizinn nails everything down to the T. I had the Obe Ata Végé which was absolutely amazing. It was flavourful, light but satisfying. I also tasted the passionfruit mojito which was super tasty, but the drink of the moment, a cucumber & jalapeno deliciousness, stole the show. Not only is the food fantastic, but the decor is beautiful, the music is well chosen & the service is impeccable. Our waitress was fun, super nice & friendly while still professional. We ate outside because all the tables inside were reserved. We placed our orders & waited more than 45 minutes before our plates arrived. During that wait outside, we had to Inhale the exhaust from cars driving right by. The portions were small for the price paid. (That is a cliche for a pricy $$$ restaurant). The Alloco I received, based on my order, was burnt; completely black. The plantains were overly ripped. I was too tired to say anything about it to the waitress given that I drove more than 7 hours from the USA. Being accustomed to real Ivorian (Côte D'Ivoire) & Haitian cuisine, we were not thrilled with what we got. However, we will give it an average rating. On the other hand, the atmosphere & the waiters/waitresses were friendly. I will highly recommend staying indoors for anyone who wants to avoid car exhaust inhalation.View more
