About us

At Kwizinn Vieux-Port, co-owners Michael Lafaille and Claudia Fiorelli bring a vibrant fusion of Caribbean flavours to the heart of Montreal's Old Port. Chef Mike Lafaille expertly blends traditional Caribbean spices with contemporary culinary techniques to create unique fusion dishes such as our octopus carpaccio, lobster poutine, plantain burger, and bao fall of di bone. The bold use of fresh herbs, rich marinades, and zesty sauces brings out the authentic and vibrant flavours that define Kwizinn Vieux-Port’s Caribbean fusion cuisine.

For a more immersive experience, Kwizinn Vieux-Montréal offers a range of special events throughout the week. Enjoy jazz nights every Thursday from 6 to 9 pm, while Fridays and Saturdays feature local DJs spinning beats late into the night. Every Friday to Sunday, indulge in a delightful brunch from 11:30 am to 3 pm, where you can savour dishes like our Fried Chicken Sandwich with coconut-marinated chicken, maple syrup, pikliz rosé, or the Tropical Wrap filled with sautéed vegetables and a choice of shredded griot or braised beef. The menu also features our creamy 3 Cheeses Mac n’ Cheese, the flavourful vegetarian dish Grilled Eggplant Obe Ata, and the savoury Chef Lafaille's Griot with fried plantains and pikliz. After brunch on Sunday, enjoy a lively Cuban night from 6 to 9 pm. We also have a private dining room perfect for groups and special occasions, and we regularly host thematic evenings, from Caribbean-inspired culinary nights to rum-tasting events.

WOW, l'ambiance, le service,
Super bouffe (nous avons choisi un menu dégustation & quelques autres plats) TOUT était bon, pas juste bon, excellent.

A great experience at Kwinzin!
Starting with the cocktails ( I had the Dark Shadow),
through the starters & main dishes, everything felt authentic & was so flavourful.
The staff was friendly & helpful with the menu choices & the vibe is pure summer.

Très bel accueil. Malheureusement, le menu n'était pas aussi diversifié que je pensais. Je me suis fiée sur leur belle image de différents plats & breuvages postés sur leur page IG pour réserver. Plusieurs de leur démonstration sur IG n'étaient pas offert. D'où la raison du 3 ⭐️. Les plats que nous avons commandé étaient bonnes.

Il ne manquait que le bruit des vagues, nous étions vraiment dans les Antilles. Le poisson boucané était délicieux & goûteux à souhait. La viande était à la fois tendre & épicée. On y retourne bientôt!

Les points positifs: service rapide & entrées frites de banane très appréciées
Ensuite, grande déception à tous les points de vue: repas, service, présentation & prix (prix disproportionnel face à l'attente du client que je suis). Le plat de lambi de mon mari n'a pas été mangé (trop piquant) & en plus c'était servi dans une assiette ébréchée de toutes parts. Vu la situation, je ne saurais évaluer à sa juste valeur mon plat de cabri, mon jugement a été affecté par la situation vécue à ce moment-là ...

Restaurant super trash riz pâteux poulet avec du sang a l'intérieur brûlez à l'extérieur kabrit plein d'os, plein de gras & c'est un des plats le plus cher du menu aucune touche des Antilles du tout aucune fois la serveuse est venu nous demander comment etai la nourriture bouteille d'eau tiède à l'arrivée au prix & au goût j'aurai préféré aller manger dans un casse croûte haitien mention spéciale uniquement pour l entrée de frite au plaintain & le cocktail ti punch sinon gaspillage d'argent !!!!!

What a great little gem of a spot. Appetizers are a fusion between carribean & Asian, their main meals are generous & tasty, the service was friendly & welcoming, & it's easy to get to. They also have live dj on Saturdays & live band on Sunday. Would highly is recommend
