About us

At Kwizinn Vieux-Port, co-owners Michael Lafaille and Claudia Fiorelli bring a vibrant fusion of Caribbean flavours to the heart of Montreal's Old Port. Chef Mike Lafaille expertly blends traditional Caribbean spices with contemporary culinary techniques to create unique fusion dishes such as our octopus carpaccio, lobster poutine, plantain burger, and bao fall of di bone. The bold use of fresh herbs, rich marinades, and zesty sauces brings out the authentic and vibrant flavours that define Kwizinn Vieux-Port’s Caribbean fusion cuisine.

For a more immersive experience, Kwizinn Vieux-Montréal offers a range of special events throughout the week. Enjoy jazz nights every Thursday from 6 to 9 pm, while Fridays and Saturdays feature local DJs spinning beats late into the night. Every Friday to Sunday, indulge in a delightful brunch from 11:30 am to 3 pm, where you can savour dishes like our Fried Chicken Sandwich with coconut-marinated chicken, maple syrup, pikliz rosé, or the Tropical Wrap filled with sautéed vegetables and a choice of shredded griot or braised beef. The menu also features our creamy 3 Cheeses Mac n’ Cheese, the flavourful vegetarian dish Grilled Eggplant Obe Ata, and the savoury Chef Lafaille's Griot with fried plantains and pikliz. After brunch on Sunday, enjoy a lively Cuban night from 6 to 9 pm. We also have a private dining room perfect for groups and special occasions, and we regularly host thematic evenings, from Caribbean-inspired culinary nights to rum-tasting events.

Bon restau, nos plats sont arrivés vite. Ils étaient goûteux copieux. Lumières un peu trop fortes mais une personne du restau à remédier en tamisant les lumières au cours de notre dîner. Nous regrettons que la musique soit le we seulement mais nous comprenons bien qu'il n'est pas facile d'avoir des musiciens tous les soirs.
Le ti punch n'est pas comme aux Antilles, mais nous l'avons bu facilement.

I had an amazing time. Loved the vibe. Cocktails & food was amazing. The only thing I didn't like was the djon djon. It wasn't black as it usually is & it lacked the djon djon flavor. It was kind of bland. It everything else was on point.

Delicious & fun food. Very nice ambiance which changes as the night goes on. The service was great. Next time I will definitely try the tasting platter... they look amazing!
Kwizinn also has lots of options for anyone looking for gluten free meals & what's particularly nice about theirs, is that their cooking seems to be effortlessly gluten free.
Authentic & awesome, I highly recommend it.

WoW!! Tout était parfait! Les assiettes étaient belles, généreuses, incroyablement variées & savoureuses. Tout était cuit à la perfection. Les saveurs s'harmonisaient à merveilles. C'était notre première visite & ça ne sera certainement pas la dernière. Ça vaut le détour. Mon nouveau restaurant préféré à Verdun.

Ambiance chaleureuse, excellent service courtois, cuisine délicieuse. Les cocktails sont à essayer : Ti-Punch, Mojito Gwayav. Les croquettes de morues salées sont à tomber, le pâté feuilleté au canard est très bon mais tiède. Le griot de Verdun est sublime & la portion est plus que généreuse. Comme digestif il faut essayer la krema maison vous ne le regretterez pas. Au dessert il ne restait pas de crème glacée alors j'ai choisi le gâteau au rhum, un peu trop mouillé à mon goût. Si j'avais une suggestion à faire : une machine à café pour faire différents cafés ordinaires & alcoolisés, & quand votre budget vous le permet de meilleures chaises, car ma fille de près de 30 ans plus jeune que moi s'est plainte d'inconfort. Nous sommes très heureuses de notre visite chez vous & nous pensons revivre l'expérience. Merci à tous !

J'ai aimé la soirée, c'était l'anniversaire de mon Chum & il a vraiment aimé l'embiance. Je recommanderai d'autres amis à venir goûter à la vrai saveur antillaises.
