About us

At Kwizinn Vieux-Port, co-owners Michael Lafaille and Claudia Fiorelli bring a vibrant fusion of Caribbean flavours to the heart of Montreal's Old Port. Chef Mike Lafaille expertly blends traditional Caribbean spices with contemporary culinary techniques to create unique fusion dishes such as our octopus carpaccio, lobster poutine, plantain burger, and bao fall of di bone. The bold use of fresh herbs, rich marinades, and zesty sauces brings out the authentic and vibrant flavours that define Kwizinn Vieux-Port’s Caribbean fusion cuisine.

For a more immersive experience, Kwizinn Vieux-Montréal offers a range of special events throughout the week. Enjoy jazz nights every Thursday from 6 to 9 pm, while Fridays and Saturdays feature local DJs spinning beats late into the night. Every Friday to Sunday, indulge in a delightful brunch from 11:30 am to 3 pm, where you can savour dishes like our Fried Chicken Sandwich with coconut-marinated chicken, maple syrup, pikliz rosé, or the Tropical Wrap filled with sautéed vegetables and a choice of shredded griot or braised beef. The menu also features our creamy 3 Cheeses Mac n’ Cheese, the flavourful vegetarian dish Grilled Eggplant Obe Ata, and the savoury Chef Lafaille's Griot with fried plantains and pikliz. After brunch on Sunday, enjoy a lively Cuban night from 6 to 9 pm. We also have a private dining room perfect for groups and special occasions, and we regularly host thematic evenings, from Caribbean-inspired culinary nights to rum-tasting events.

Pas assez de légumes frais dans mon assiette, trop de porc gras. Les frites semblaient voir été cuites à l'avance. Le vin blanc pas assez froid.

Literally drove from ottawa to Montreal to try this place out! & the food was phenomenal. We even had to make another order to go on our way back to ottawa! Defiantly recommend this place!

La nourriture était excellente & nous avons passé un bon moment entre amies. Par contre la musique était un peu trop forte au fur & à mesure de la soirée. Sinon , le service était bien. Je recommande.

Superbe ambiance, un DJ est arrivé vers 20h30 pour mettre de la musique kompa. Musique un peu forte. Bons cocktails, quoi qu'un peut trop portés sur l'amertume à mon goût (sauf peut-être le piña). Bonnes assiettes bien chargées & délicieuses. Attention, plats relevés. Belle déco & serveuses sympas.

The service is very slow , one of our waitress was a littel bit on the agressive side , not very helpfull , nit everybody is from Haiti even with blavk skin , for 9 the bill ended beeing up to 500,$
The food was a bit dry for our liking .the owners were there & took particular attention to their friend but not so much the rest of the clients .
Overall it s ok , the chairs are not confortable for a long wait to get the food .
The place is clean , nicely decorated , music is good but if turndown a bit , you can have nice conversation .i m not sure if they were annoyed with our no pork restriction but i honnesly think we were not difficult (karens) .
It is an experience to have , but doesnt feel the need to go bavk on my next visit to Montreal

The food was pretty amazing. The only problem was the steak I ordered was 40$ & it was probably the worst steak I've ever had lol it was unseasoned & tough like rubber, but the fries, salade & drinks were great. I would recommend :)

Tout était parfait!! 😍 & délicieux! J'ai adoré!!! La seule chose les prix pour les boissons sont excessivement cher. & j'aurais mis la musique un peu plus fort car il manquait un peu d'ambiance. C'était très tranquile. Mais a part cela c'était waw!!! 😍😍😍 le meilleur restaurant que j'ai eu la chance de gouté a Mtl!
