At Kwizinn Vieux-Port, co-owners Michael Lafaille and Claudia Fiorelli bring a vibrant fusion of Caribbean flavours to the heart of Montreal's Old Port. Chef Mike Lafaille expertly blends traditional Caribbean spices with contemporary culinary techniques to create unique fusion dishes such as our octopus carpaccio, lobster poutine, plantain burger, and bao fall of di bone. The bold use of fresh herbs, rich marinades, and zesty sauces brings out the authentic and vibrant flavours that define Kwizinn Vieux-Port’s Caribbean fusion cuisine.
For a more immersive experience, Kwizinn Vieux-Montréal offers a range of special events throughout the week. Enjoy jazz nights every Thursday from 6 to 9 pm, while Fridays and Saturdays feature local DJs spinning beats late into the night. A little echo-y inside & the floors were very slippery, but otherwise great high-energy ambience. Food & drinks were incredible - very tasty & creative combinations.
Amazing Haitian restaurant, I don't think I've eaten better in Montreal (sorry to my Haitian friends mom 😅) We took the degustation platter as we couldn't decide what to try & boy we were not disappointed. Everything was just delicious & perfectly seasoned. The portion of the platter is very generous though & could have fed 4, we left with a lot of leftovers 😋
It was our first time trying Carribean food & it definitely was the best part of our experience. We did that set menu from MTL à Table & everything was excellent. The cocktails were kind of a miss, the consistency on one of them was way too viscous & sweet so we returned it. We would return for the food & maybe on a busier night where there's a bit more atmosphere.
We had a wonderful meal - it's my third time dining here, with different out-of-town guests each time & yet again, we all loved every bite! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars for the ambience was the smoke from the kitchen was troublesome the night we were there (the fan wasn't working?) but the staff were very apologetic & great at making sure we had everything we could possibly need & we loved it! Can't wait to go back again.
I went on Naija night & the food was absolutely amazing! I've had the haitian food before, everything is great! This is a must go restaurant. Congrats to the chef for his creative fusion style!
Loved my experienced at Kwizinn! The food was great & the server was attentive & helpful. (I asked how the choco-banana mousse was made, & she asked the chef for me.) I had never tried this kind of cuisine before, & really liked what I had.
