At Kwizinn Vieux-Port, co-owners Michael Lafaille and Claudia Fiorelli bring a vibrant fusion of Caribbean flavours to the heart of Montreal's Old Port. Chef Mike Lafaille expertly blends traditional Caribbean spices with contemporary culinary techniques to create unique fusion dishes such as our octopus carpaccio, lobster poutine, plantain burger, and bao fall of di bone. The bold use of fresh herbs, rich marinades, and zesty sauces brings out the authentic and vibrant flavours that define Kwizinn Vieux-Port’s Caribbean fusion cuisine.
For a more immersive experience, Kwizinn Vieux-Montréal offers a range of special events throughout the week. Enjoy jazz nights every Thursday from 6 to 9 pm, while Fridays and Saturdays feature local DJs spinning beats late into the night. Every Friday to Sunday, indulge in a delightful brunch from 11:30 am to 3 pm, where you can savour dishes like our Fried Chicken Sandwich with coconut-marinated chicken, maple syrup, pikliz rosé, or the Tropical Wrap filled with sautéed vegetables and a choice of shredded griot or braised beef. The menu also features our creamy 3 Cheeses Mac n’ Cheese, the flavourful vegetarian dish Grilled Eggplant Obe Ata, and the savoury Chef Lafaille's Griot with fried plantains and pikliz. After brunch on Sunday, enjoy a lively Cuban night from 6 to 9 pm. We also have a private dining room perfect for groups and special occasions, and we regularly host thematic evenings, from Caribbean-inspired culinary nights to rum-tasting events.
Kwizinn is described as a stylish welcoming spot where Caribbean and Haitian flavors shine through generous, flavorful dishes and attentive service. The ambiance is praised for its beautiful decor with midnight blue walls, dark wood, gold accents, and a warm, lively vibe that makes dining feel special. The menu offers creative fusion options and tasting choices that suit groups and celebrations, with standout dishes like griot, oxtail patty, lobster pasta and empanadas noted for quality and presentation. The staff are repeatedly highlighted as knowledgeable and friendly, providing thoughtful recommendations and care that enhance the experience. While some reviews mention price reflections and occasional slow moments, the overall sentiment points to a standout dining experience worth returning for and recommending.
Yo yo yo, the cuisine in this place is just 👌🏽👏🏻...I'm from Central Africa & eating here felt like I was at home. It's a very modern touch on Afro-Carribean food.
Our server visibly relaxed when we opened with "Help us choose. Spicy is okay." Things went well from there. We ate light, choosing the pork griot & the mushroom empanadas. Both were very good, Solid wine list too. We'll be back soon for a full meal.

It was average. My wife ordered the chicken, & they burned it. She said it was dry. It didn't look like what others had on their pics on here. They also didn't provide a half chicken, just wings & drumsticks. Felt like we didn't get value on our order here. I ordered the burger, & it was really good. The fries were the driest fries I ever ate in my life. It was unedible though. Overcooked was a regular theme with the food, even the plantains were dry. I didn't make for an enjoyable dining experince. Even the djon djon rice wasn't djon djon rice. We were confused at what we were served. The atmosphere was nice. I was thinking that I'd come back & order the appetizer plate before the food came. I think I'll pass instead.
Really flavourful & delicious food! The atmosphere was also gorgeous & I loved that there was a live DJ. The service though very nice, wasn't the most attentive & we found ourselves thirsty a lot & our drinks ended up coming after our meal arrived. But overall I still really enjoyed the experience!
Got to enjoy this beautiful new location with a group of friends. We got to try many sharing plates. All were absolutely delicious. The cocktails were amazing, the atmosphere was very pleasant. A must try experience. We will definitely be back.
Good atmosphere & food! The only negative (but that does quite impact the overall experience) is the service. Extremely slow waitress (& the restaurant wasn't packed). Took 15-20 minutes to get cocktails, & no water. We had to ask someone to give us some water after waiting for 20 minutes for someone to come to our table. We felt forgotten. I mean, the food is AMAZING & the live band was great - but the service ruins it. Then you're asked to tip 18% or more, makes no sense. Anyways, thanks for the great food & ambiance but please have your waiters be more attentive.

Good food, but... .. only French menu card .. prices are deceiving; they recommend a side as well that cost close to a main elsewhere .. the plate size of the main would make it a small side elsewhere. Overall can not really recommend for anything but a snack

The griot is insanely good. The kabrit was "koupé dwet" in other words excellent! The customer service was A1. I was more than impressed. Definitely will come back 🔥💯💯🇭🇹
WOW!!!
A bit pricey but the food was really good. I had the plantain burger & that was one of the best burgers I've ever had ! The sides are quite expensive for relatively small portions.

This place is a perfect 10/10. It's low key & unassuming. The service was great. The food delicious. & the vibe ... oh the vibe!! Absolutely on point. Husband & I went for a date night. We had a great time. Great to see how this restaurant has transitioned from the verdun location to the old port. Well definitely be back!
Amazing experience! Friendly & attentive staff who gave a very nice service & the food was absolutely delicious! We tried different dishes & they were all flavorful & tasty, & you could tell that the ingredients were fresh & of good quality.
Encore 5 thumbs up! Je recommande à tous!
