Chez Kum Mon, le homard et le poulet croustillant sont souvent présentés comme des plats à tenter, le homard étant décrit comme inégalé et le poulet croustillant comme un incontournable qui vaut le déplacement; trois générations se sont succédé dans ce restaurant, l'extérieur discret masquant des saveurs distinctes et une hospitalité chaleureuse grâce au propriétaire incroyablement gentil qui maintient la tradition; l'ambiance est calme et agréable, et la nourriture reçoit des éloges, notamment les meilleurs egg rolls de Montréal et un bon rapport qualité-prix, même si certains plats affichent des avis plus mitigés comme le riz frit goûté surtout à la sauce soja, le sauté boeuf-légumes avec la même saveur, le poulet à l'ananas surtout en chapelure et des sauces qui ne sont pas à la hauteur; toutefois l'endroit est souvent recommandé et les habitués reviennent pour manger sur place et profiter de l'expérience.
I've been going to Kum Mon since I was 7 or 8 years old-& now I'm bringing my own kids. Three generations enjoying the same place says everything.
It may not look like much from the outside, but it deserves far more credit than it gets. The food has a distinct, unique flavor you won't find elsewhere. The lobster is truly unmatched, & the crispy chicken is a must-those two dishes alone are worth the trip every time.
We used to go almost every other weekend when I was a kid. Even now, living farther away, we still make the effort to come back every month or two. The owner is incredibly kind, & it always feels good to stop by, share a few smiles, & keep the tradition going.
The management of this place is very rough & has 0 customer satisfaction whatsoever, no manners, no service, food quality is so bad. Worst experience ever.

Order a 2-person combo meal. It was pretty terrible imo.
Fried rice tasted like it was just seasoned with soy sauce.
Beef vegetable stir fry had the same soy sauce only flavor.
Pinapple chicken was mostly breading. Sauce was not good.
Dry garlic spare ribs was ok. Edible.
Egg rolls were ok. Edible.
C'est une bonne idée d'aller en famille pour goûter le vrai plat chinois, #137 c'est une délice avec la soupe Won-Ton des légumes sont délicieux & crocan, là sauce c'est ça le secret du chef, encroiablement bon. Merci à tous ceux qu'il travaille là-bas. Bravo.
Server was polite & knowledgeable & super friendly, food was fast & was by far the best Chinese food I have ever had with generous portions & all was fresh & great, could not recommend it more
Really good dine in service! Orange beef was to perfection in texture & taste (some crispiness on the outside) & sauce was good Crispy duck while tasty & had nice crispy parts was just a little overcooked so the meat was slightly dry. House special fried rice was good The chinede broccoli was perfect
I love this restaurant because it's always empty, & it feels like you have the restaurant to yourself when you go in there & dine. The people are friendly & the food is amazing!!!!!
TL;DR avoid. Not good, other restaurants are better for the price. Wish i saw reviews before i ordered & ate. Didn't look for bugs, but that scares me that someone else got roaches in their food. I got the general tao, the egg roll & rice. The general tao is pretty awful. Heavy, unpleasantly soft breading on tough, chewy, stringy chicken. Sauce is not the typical general tao sauce. it's kind of like a watered down barbecue sauce. Overall, the flavour was off & not at all something i would recommend. Feels like it was made using old leftovers in a rush. Rice was exactly as you'd expect. hard to mess up. Tastes good but is a little old. Not really fresh. Egg roll was good. Crispy outside & soft warm inside. tasty, but the sauce was bland. I don't like giving low ratings but i also don't like eating suspicious, subpar food after overpaying.
