It was our first time in an afghani restaurant. The food was amazing from starters to the dessert. Service was fast & efficient. This restaurant has an amazing decor which makes you feel just like if you were having your meal in Afghanistan.
Also the table d'hôte are very much worth the price!!
100% would recommend.

Not only the best Afghan food I've ever had, but probably one of the best MEALS I've ever had in my life. Everything down to the last kernel of rice was aromatic, delectably spiced, & tender. I previously had a favorite lentil soup at another place, but Khyber Pass has dethroned that other lentil soup. The rose pudding was creamy & comforting.
The service was rapid & impeccable.
This is definitely a restaurant/cuisine for you if you appreciate cardamom.
I will say that the menu is mostly focused on meat dishes, however, I actually did an entirely vegetarian spread when I went, & it was scrumptious. I was also pleasantly surprised by the post-dinner tea. I am very much a snob about tea, so often expect to be disappointed by something served in a restaurant, but it was really nice & smooth.
After an 8-hour journey, all I needed was a good meal that felt like home. I searched for an Afghan restaurant in Montreal & ended up at Khyber Pass - & honestly, it was the best decision I made that day.
No waiting... The staff was super welcoming & kind, which already set the vibe right. Then came the food… & it blew me away. The flavors were so authentic, it genuinely felt like I was back home for a moment. I had been craving that exact taste for so long, & nowhere else hit the mark like this place did.
Everything - from the atmosphere to the service to the food - was simply amazing. Highly, highly recommend it if you're looking for a real Afghan food experience in Montreal.

Hospitable service...
Lovely atmosphere...
& most relevant, the food was spectacular.... all of the dishes we ordered were superb... perhaps one of the best lentil soups I have had...
Very friendly staff & a very homely atmosphere. BYOB (Wine) restaurant. The owner is a noble soul, & a very quick service. Food was perfectly cooked & served. Went two times consecutively in two days! Highly recommended.
