I went for dinner with a few friends & the experience was amazing. The service was great & the food was delicious.
I got the Table D'Hote #1 with the lentil soup, Ashak (leek dumplings), & kabuli palaw. The soup tasted like traditional dal, very nice. The Ashak was amazing, basically dumplings with a different flavor. The Kabuli Palaw was truly the star! The rice was soft, the lamb was melting off the bone.
The staff was really nice, very attentive but not hovering. You could really take your time sitting there, eating food, & enjoying conversations. Highly recommend!
Fantastic dining experience from start to finish ! It was our first time, but won't be our last. This BYOW Afghan resto had ambiance & amazing food at reasonable prices, & great service.
We had the table d'hote #2 to try as much as possible. Started with a delicious lentil soup, followed by a massive Kabuli Palaw (roasted fork-tender lamb shank) accompanied by a huge plate of savory brown basmati rice, flavoured with afghan spices, raisins & carrot juliennes. Absolute amazing !
Other lamb dishes sampled were the Sabzi Chalaw (with spinach) & Korma Chalaw (tomato based), all equally delicious. Reservations are recommended, although we didn't have to wait at all, & it was Valentine's Day !

Loved the food & the interior. Gives a very rustic feeling. We got the Kabuli Palaw as well as the Korma Chalaw. Both were very flavour infused & had a rich spicy undertone to it. Portions were huge. Loved the food as well as the service!
Found this hidden gem while searching for halal cuisine near our stay. Did not expect much but was pleasantly surprised by the food. The Kabuli pulao is outstanding. The service was lovely as well. The patio at the back is very cosy & gets packed quickly. Overall a very nice vibe.
Cozy restaurant with great Afghanistan food. I got the Kabuli Palaw with lamb shank, a very filling rice dish with spices & raisins making for a savory & fruity combination. The rice pudding was really good, it was sweet, floral, & subtle with warming cardamom spice.
We took two soups for an entree, which the lentil soup, I can say, was amazing! The main dish was kabuli polow with a lamb shank which just melts in the mouth with shredded carrots.
Definitely one of the best spots in the city.
Had a lovely meal at Khyber Pass! The Kabuli Pulaw with lamb & the mantu were both delicious. The portion sizes were generous & the prices were reasonable, especially for the area.
Our waiter was fantastic. The atmosphere was relaxed, & the terrace seating was a really nice touch, especially on a pleasant evening.
I do wish they served bolani & chapli kebab, which are some of our favorite Afghan dishes & would round out the menu nicely. Interestingly, most of the diners were not Afghan. Would go back if in Montreal!
I had Kabuli Palaw. It was delicious. They served complimentary bread with 3 dipping sauces. The service was as excellent & the outdoor seating area is great.
The combo meal that has soup, kabuli pulaw, keer, & tea is not only affordable but also very tasty, & the portion is very huge! I was not able to take photos, but I was very glad that I spent my birthday here & every special occassion.
