Khyber Pass offers a warm, immersive Afghan dining experience with authentic flavors and generous portions. The table d'hôte is a standout value, delivering soups, mantoo, Ashak and Kabuli Palaw with tender lamb, all complemented by aromatic rice and thoughtful spices. The atmosphere blends cozy interiors with a welcoming back patio and decor that transports guests to Kabul, and the BYOB policy plus attentive service make for relaxed, memorable evenings.
This is hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Montreal. Wow, just amazing food. For the entrée we got the leek stuffed pasta, & it was amazing. For the main we got the quail, it was juicy & deliciously seasoned to perfection (apparently the spice mix is a secret that the chef keeps to himself!). We also got the lamb shank, it was so amazingly tender, falling off the bone. I've never eaten such delicious meat in my life. Just wow. The rose pudding felt like a soft cloud inside my mouth, aromatic with notes of pistachios & cardamon, perfect to finish the meal. I recommend going there when you're hungry, because the portions are quite big. The table d'hôte is quite worth it. Our waiter was very nice & fast. Overall an amazing experience. 10/10 highly reccomend.
My husband & I were craving Afghan food & this hit the spot! The ambiance, food & service were all great. We really liked the lentil soup & the noodle soup which were both delicious starters. The afghan hospitality was on full display as they accompanied our firnee with cups of chai!
We were greeted by the host on entrance & asked if we wanted to sit inside or on the terrace. We were served three sauces, I liked the yogurt one, with some Afghani bite-sized naans. We ordered the 3 course choices that they had. Both of their soups were spot on, & so was the dessert pudding. The dessert was not very sweet, which is how we like it. The tea at the end was the cherry on top. The lamb shank I ordered was decent. The meat was coming off like butter, but it didn't wow me with its taste. We were a bit disappointed by the meatballs. They hardly looked like meatballs but rather two big pucks of meat. The sauce tasted better than the lambshank but was overly tomatoey. The service was outstanding! The waiters were really nice! The atmosphere was fantastic. It took me back to Afghanistan with all the cultural decoration.
Food was really good, friendly staff & cosy ambiance. We ordered Kabuli Palaw, Sabzi Chalaw, Combo Vege, Mantoo plate, Mourg kebab & waiter told us that owner offer us complimentary soups which are very good too! We have a great time & highly recommend dinning at Khyber Pass if you are in Montreal.

Delicious traditional afghan food & very cool atmosphere. Maybe I'm biased because I'm half afghan, but I loved it! The lamb shank withe the kabuli palaw was so tender. I recommend get one of the table d'hote options for someone with a big appetite & wants to try the soup, maybe an appetizer, & desser with tea or coffee. Very cute patio
J'y ai fêté mon anniversaire & tout était parfait, bonne bouffe, bon service, bonne ambiance ! J'étais contente de faire découvrir ce resto à mes amis!:)

My first time trying Afghan food & it's so good!! we ordered Set 2 (comes with soup, main course, dessert, & tea/coffee) & everything was delicious. Also, I don't normally like lamb but I heard that it's really good here, so I ordered it & it's the first lamb I've actually enjoyed! The pistachio rose pudding was absolutely heavenly & the tea was so floral & spiced!
It was my first time trying Afghan cuisine & I was pleasantly surprised! The lamb dish was tasty & generous. The ambiance felt cozy & traditional. Nice experience!
The food was amazing. Our server was very kind & honest. The place had a very nice cozy ambiance. He even showed us around the terrace even though it was closed. Must try this place, the Korma Chalaw was to die for.
I have no bad things to say about this restaurant. The ambience was super cozy & I felt very welcome. Their value for the table d'hôte is incredible if you want to sample many dishes. Everything we ordered was so so flavourful & well spiced. The lamb was incredibly tender. I highly recommend the ashak dumplings & the pumpkin appetizer. This restaurant is well worth the visit.
Très belle découverte! Allez sur la terrasse chauffée à l'arrière, c'est beaucoup trop mignon comme ambiance! & la bouffe est si bonne. Je recommande fortement.
Stumbled across this place while exploring the neighborhood on a visit to Montreal, & went in because we had never tried Afghan cuisine. Lucky for us they had 1 unreserved table. My wife & I each had a different lamb shank dish, & the lentil soup. From the flatbread they brought to the table, to the soup & the entrees, everything was exquisite. Khyber Pass was a definite highlight of out trip to Montreal. If we go back to the city, this restaurant will definitely be on the itinerary.
