My household's go-to indian place almost every time
Everything we've tried has been very good - but the thing that really sets khao peeyo apart from the other indian restos in Montréal for us is the meat. Cooked perfectly it's always tender & moist & super flavourful - two huge standouts are the chicken korma & the lamb madras
Aki & harman was super cool & they serve us the best chicken wrap ever... We definitely come back!
I always order here for takeout once in a while & the service has never left me disappointed. The portions are good & the price is also nice.
I recommend the korma & the butter chicken.
Food is amazing & very well served, service is great, will be coming back for butter chicken!
Loved my experience at Khao Peeyo! The food is super flavorful & fresh, especially the butter chicken & naan. Great atmosphere & friendly staff - definitely one of the best spots for Indian food in Montreal. Highly recommend!
If comfort had a flavor, it would taste like Khao Piyo.
From the moment you walk in, the aroma wraps around you like a warm shawl on a winter evening. Every dish feels thoughtfully crafted-rich, vibrant, & full of that authentic Indian soul you just can't fake. The spices don't shout; they sing in perfect harmony.
The butter chicken is silky & indulgent, the biryani arrives like a celebration in a bowl, & even the simplest naan feels like it was made with care & intention. You can tell this isn't just food-it's passion plated beautifully.
What truly elevates the experience is the hospitality. The staff treats you less like a customer & more like a guest they've been waiting for.
If you're craving real Indian flavors that feel both nostalgic & exciting, Khao Piyo isn't just a restaurant-it's an experience you'll want to return to again & again.
Very disappointing experience. The food was extremely bad & not fresh at all. I ordered an Aloo Tikki Burger, Chicken Biryani, Golgappe, & Samosa Chaat, & honestly everything felt like a waste of money.
The Aloo Tikki Burger was cold & tasted stale. The Chicken Biryani lacked flavor & didn't seem fresh at all. The Golgappe were soggy instead of crispy, & the Samosa Chaat was also very disappointing.
Overall, the food quality was poor & definitely not worth the price. I would not recommend this place if you're looking for fresh & tasty food. Very bad experience. 😞
I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Khao Peeyo Saint Henri on February 27 around 10 PM.
To begin with, the restaurant was not clean. Our table still had food remains on it when we were seated, & there were visible food scraps on the floor as well. The overall environment looked unhygienic & poorly maintained.
Unfortunately, the food was equally disappointing. The samosas had a strange, stale oil smell. The chilli chicken appeared to have excessive red coloring added to it. The egg chicken biryani tasted more like a basic pulao, lacking proper flavor & authenticity - it was so bad that we could not even finish it. The kofta curry was overly salty & very unpleasant to eat.
What disturbed me the most was the hygiene practice of one of the servers. She was having dinner at a table nearby. When my order was ready, she went into the kitchen in between eating - with food still on her hands - picked up my order from the chef, wiped her hands with a tissue, & then served our food while still holding that same tissue. This happened around 10 PM on February 27, & can be verified on camera if needed. This level of hygiene is completely unacceptable.
Overall, it was a waste of money & a very unpleasant experience. I would never visit again. I request a refund as a gesture of apology for this experience.
