Had high expectations for this new Japanese restaurant in the heart of downtown MTL & it didn't disappoint one bit. The chicken karaage gochujang was my favorite - perfect blend of sweet & spicy. The ebi mayo shrimps with the ponzu sauce was so flavorful as well. Drinks are so tasty & the vibe & deco of this place is on point. Will return 100%. Customer service was also perfection, even if the place was full on a Friday night. Highly recommend 🤗View more

J'ai adoré mon expérience au Iru Izakaya le 2025-07-25! Nous étions un groupe de 6 personnes & nous avons tous été satisfaits de ce qu'on a bu & mangé. J'ai adoré l'expérience de prendre un Saké Bomb, la Sapporo en fût était très froide (comme j'aime) & les Nouilles ramen sautées aux champignons, canard, parmesan & huile de truffe étaient succulentes. We were a group of six & had an incredible dining experience. We opted for the menu découverte, & every dish was beautifully executed. The standouts for me were the red miso black cod, the oysters with miso, the pork belly skewers, & the maguro tataki - each bite was packed with flavour & perfectly balanced.
On the cocktail side, the Midori Fizz was a highlight - light, refreshing, & a perfect complement to the meal.
Service by Clarence was impeccable. He was warm, attentive, & consistently excellent throughout the evening. We also really appreciated his guidance on the sake selection.Joe, the maître d'hôtel, was also very hospitable & made us feel very welcome.

Food & service were really good.
The interior design was w bit disappointing compared to all the neons visible from outside. It looked just like a typical north American restaurant/bar with a timid Japan neons skin.
Music was typical North American mainstream.

Everything was delicious, we ordered the $50 experience for one person & in the end we got the bill for 2. I told the waiter why, I only ordered one because my friend wasn't going to eat & he ended up charging us for 2 people ($100). I think he clearly wanted to charge us the account more. I'm disappointed because he didn't give us an explanation, & everything was delicious, but that's why I don't think I'll go back /:View more
