Il Pazzesco has been noticed and appreciated by Montreal gourmets since it was founded in 1991 by brothers Michele and Mario Lapadula. Following the expansion and renovation in the winter of 2001, the restaurant is divided into two separate rooms, one of which has a dance floor. You can reserve either one of the rooms for more privacy, and the same attentive service.
In May 2002 the daily newspaper “La Presse” described Il Pazzesco as being a discovery in Anjou (découverte à Anjou.)

Il Pazzesco impresses with its gnocchi and the menu blends classic Italian flavors with a dynamic, memorable profile. Service is consistently superb and attentive, making guests feel welcome and at home. The atmosphere is warm and elegant yet welcoming, with a refined vibe that still feels inviting. Dishes such as gnocchi, polpette, veal, seafood pastas and lamb chops are praised for freshness, generous portions and authentic preparation, with pasta often described as al dente and sauces flavorful. Value is highlighted with generous portions and quality that justifies the price, and many reviews note that the experience can feel like a true Italian dining moment, whether dining in or celebrating a special occasion. Minor notes about noise or a few menu items not meeting expectations are far outweighed by the overall experience, leaving a sense of a reliable favorite for fans of Italian cuisine.
food so mid: the'focaccia' is flatbread pizza - not great, the penne arrabiata was not spicy at all, watery too (saw it swishing as waiter put plate down)
if you like average italian food & enjoy overpaying, this is the spot for you!
(im sure other options are better but based on what i had this is my rating)

Had a very nice evening with friends from out of town. I had never been to this restaurant, the reviews were good so we decided to try it. The food was very good & old school italian cuisine, loved it! We had great service & great food, what more can you ask for. Will definitely go back!
Even though we walked in wearing our work clothes after a day of sanding floors, we were welcomed with open arms & treated like VIPs. Each dish looked like a typical portion size, but halfway through, we realized just how hearty & satisfying it was. The taste? Absolutely jaw-dropping. Every bite was rich, authentic, & worth every penny. By the time we got halfway, we were already full This was my first time at an authentic Italian restaurant, & after tonight, I know I'll be back. Maybe next time, I'll try their pizza The meals we had: - LINGUINE AMALFITANA - SIGNATURE PLATE : Shrimps, scallops, clams, calamari, mussels, white wine, tomato sauce - LASAGNA - RIGATONI PAZZESCO: Italian sausage, eggplant, smoked caciocavallo cheese, tomato sauce
If you want an authentic Italian restaurant, this is the one. We came up from Downtown & it was definitely worth it. Everything was fantastic, All dishes were perfect; the soups, salads & obviously the pastas. Our waiter's wine recommendation was right on. You can't go wrong with this place.
Another outstanding evening past at Il Pazzesco. The service is so warm & welcoming. Every server & the owner, all are attentive & you really get the feeling that they are very happy you chose their restaurant. & that is just the beginning. Then you eat excellent food, some of the best Italian food I have had. It has a very chic downtown decor. Much easier access than downtown restaurants. Table cloths on the tables & real napkins. Lots of parking. We will return OFTEN.
Sal & his team are the definition of fine dining. The food is authentic Italian & is seasoned to perfection. The wine list is vast with some great options. Best Italian restaurant in Montreal. Would recommend to anyone who's looking for a romantic night at a beautiful restaurant with a great ambiance.
One of the best Italian family owned restaurants that I know. Ralph & Sal are devoted to their craft for great foods & atmosphere & great wines. 5 Star hands down.

Delicious & fresh Authentic Italian food. Loved the antipasto , proshiutto wasn't too salty, loved the little slices of thin crust pizza they gave as an appetizer, the panini were fresh & very good. Loved the medaglione with ricotta cheese, you could actually taste the ricotta, no mish mash of ingredients that some restaurants serve as "ricotta", but looks & tastes like glue. The meat was tender & tasty & well done just the way I asked for.
Great service also!! I would recommend Il Pazzesco to anyone for any occasion! Congratulations to the chef!
