About us
Located in an enchanting setting on the shores of the Lachine Canal, Il Fornetto is a perfect place to offer oneself a moment of relaxation and change of scenery without having to leave the city. Inside, the rustic-inspired though modern décor is particularly pleasant. Yet it is above all for its superb, double-level terrace looking out directly over the canal that people love this place. Open from early in spring until late in autumn, the terrace welcomes you to come and enjoy beautiful the sunsets.
Il Fornetto’s menu takes on the appearance of an encyclopaedia of Italian cuisine. The selection is impressive and includes all of the staples: pastas available as a full dish or half portion, which is great for an entrée, various antipasti and veal and the most important staple of them all, pizza baked in a real wood-burning oven. Here, it is particularly delicious, crispy and topped with the freshest ingredients. Not surprisingly, this restaurant – open since 1987 – shows no sign of slowing down.

Very mediocre food. The pizza & pasta we had were both underwhelming. The service was very good. Not somewhere I would return to.

We have been there many times & there has never been any problem, this time we ordered Spaghetti Carbonara & the portion was smaller & not well prepared, very different from the other times we have been, I hope it was just this time, lots of people on Saturdays

The scenery is great, opposite the riverside park.After the marathon, I treated a friend & her son to dinner here; he'd done a fantastic job! We enjoyed our meal while watching the runners from afar. We ordered seafood paella, beef carpaccio, steak, calamari, & a soup, all delicious. The sunny weather, beautiful surroundings, & delicious food-everything was perfect. This was my third time here.

Pizza was one of the best pizzas I've had flavor-wise. The only mention I have is the crust was a bit overcooked on one side, needs to be spun 180 halfway through in the oven but otherwise 🔥

Nous y sommes allé pour souper & laissez moi vous dire que nous ne voulions plus partir. Les plats sont délicieux, les portions généreuses & il y a une grande variété de drinks. L'ambiance sur la terrasse est relax & chaleureuse. Le personnel super aimable, gentil & souriant & toujours à l'écoute! Je le recommande à 1000%
